Now I have some questions. What was the cost of your decent shape 323? What was the cost of the EGT? Cost of swap? Time invested? My Garage:

Yeah, the 323 has become my "hobby" more than a project. It'll be a couple years before I get everything done on the car that I want.
I was sent out of town for two months for trades school and then out of town again after that for work. Been stupidly busy.
I've tracked down a spare Subaru A/W intercooler setup from my man in New Zealand. I think that might be a nice low-key way to fly.
As for staying N/A, I seriously considered it. However, I think a nice low boost (8-10psi on a forged 9:1 motor) with quick spool-up would make for a fun toy. I don't want to be destroying transmissions (although, the Toyota swap is within my means and abilities) all the time.
The car list rolls like this:
- 2002 Subaru Impreza wagon with a completely re manufactured motor. This is my current "automotive" project. Once I the heads cleaned up (have the shortblock already) I can put it together and drive.
- 1985 AW11 MR2. I'm going to build up a 9:1 forged 4AGZE to run with a VJ14/VF10 turbo and about 14-15psi of boost. I've got a S/C tranny and axles, so it's a matter of getting the motor rebuilt.
- 1991 or 1990 323. I seriously can't remember anymore... jesus. Anywho, I've got to completely strip the underside of the car, POR-15 the crap out of it, and then get to work on priming and painting the shell. The rear subframe/suspension needs a complete replacement. The braking system needs to be refreshed. The front subframe needs to come out and completely redo that. Engine bay could use some rust protection as well.
It's gonna be a long haul, but I love having two little projects (whenever the damn wagon is finished) to keep my busy.
I've also had to do tons of work to the house we bought 2 years ago. Oh well, keeping me active.I peered out from the castle window and looked over the splendor of ROTM county. Yes, twas' a much simpler time back then. Peasants would go about their postings, and I, the mod, would rule over them with an iron fist.

Here's the wagon.
The engine parts I have been cleaning for it.
New shortblock for Subie.
Then I built a pool shed to make room for an air compressor in the garage (one day...). So now the pump is outside and wont make the garage 1000* everyday.
Then a new alternator on the Focus.
Then the old pool pump died. ($$)
Also replaced the cracked dash on my MR2 recently.

I miss working on the car. I'll never get rid of it, but damn, there's a lot of projects ahead of it now.
At least it will give me time to get a complete set of A-pillar covers.I peered out from the castle window and looked over the splendor of ROTM county. Yes, twas' a much simpler time back then. Peasants would go about their postings, and I, the mod, would rule over them with an iron fist.

In NewZealand, they offer fiberglass replacements that get bonded directly to the body (at the base of the window) and have the one screw mount at the top.I peered out from the castle window and looked over the splendor of ROTM county.
