Smaller brakes vs. Escort GT stuff.

I had to switch spindles to get the calipers to work (wtf? I thought they were bolt on, but w/e).

          New ball joint.

          RIMZZZ.

Since I snapped a bolt off in the other Escort GT spindle, I'll have to wait a couple days for it to get properly extracted/removed.

That's it for today. Rotors, pads, calipers, ball joint on the passenger side. Expect a carbon copy update for the driver's soon.
I peered out from the castle window and looked over the splendor of ROTM county. Yes, twas' a much simpler time back then. Peasants would go about their postings, and I, the mod, would rule over them with an iron fist.

              Busted my ass today.

Driver's side spindle installed with new brakes.

              Front down. Rear up higher.

              Rear subframe removed.

Subframe craziness. Pictured is the 323 and Escort rear subframes torn apart to get the cleaner bits of the 323 with the rear disc of the Escort.

After installed the Escort S/R struts with the 323 springs, it was time to take it for a test drive.
First test drived. How does that sound?

Coming back from the test drive

Here's some shots with the hood on.

So, what do you guys think now?

I wish the work computer didn't block
but I'll bet it looks awesome, and drives even better.
No car! I soldz it. Now I have a truck. I like it, but apparently it has a hard time keeping up with a slightly modified 4WD protege with half the hp. Neat.

Sounds good man, whats your idle at? Sounds a bit high.

Also double check that your VICS is working, pop the hood, rev the engine past 5k and see if the solonoid opens the butterfly valves.

                        Besides that, have fun!

What, you think I'm done? Not shown here - proper bleeding of the brakes to get all the god damn air out. Now the car will actually stop. Also, emptied the pure water in the coolant system and mixed in the proper amounts of green coolant/water.

Sanding down some more of the crap-tastic paint.

Put some primer down to keep rust away until it all gets painted.

Off comes the front end. I wanted to fix this 1" gap on the passenger side between the bumper and fender. I had to 'adjust' the mounting hole a bit to get a fit that matched the driver's side.

Fitting the trim below the light.

Some very 'adjusted' factory Mazda pieces on the Escort GT bumper. I'll still have to apply some filler to get a it perfect. This was just a rough draft, per say.

Here's some of the 'adjusted' material.

My nicely tucked up exhaust. I still have to add one hanger on the section in front of the gas tank to really pull it up (also, because it needs one there).

                            The front end looks awesome!!...

you should try the Shorty Rear bumper mod to make it look Sick! (requires loosing that rear bumper support though)
