Cleaned the headlights with lense restore and a buffer, turned out pretty good...Bought a 7" polisher/sander and did some polishing of certain car body parts with meguire's polishing compound... Shoot man those polishers are the bomb!! made the paint look like new!!
Also starrted on the foglight grill today... it's installed and the hood is cut... used a shaper (pic att) to copy the circumference...Tomorrow I'll remove the hood and start the fiber glassing and body work...pics att...can't wait to see this finished...

I was working on the GTR hood vents also but had to stop and look up if fiberglass was bendable if heated... the vents I have do not follow the contour of the hood surface and if I bolt them on they'll be under tension and will most probably break...
I need more info on what they look like too... I only have the plates, no grill... does the grill go between the plates and the hood? or on top of the plate and inside them?
Looking at those plates I would assume they go inside the top...but that would look somewhat lousy...putting the grill between the plate and the hood would hide the cut area...or do I install it on the underside of the hood?

Right now I'm basing my findings on JHO's pics...Wow... does that front end look good or what!!
Like you said, it looks like the grills are fastened underneath the hood (open hood pic) but if you look at the top view it looks like there is one on the outside. Could there be 2?
I called a JDM parts supplier, he has a GTR hood for sale... I may judt go buy the hood and snag the vents off it... At the time I bought my JDM heads he wanted 300 for it...maybe he's willing to drop the price if he hasn't sold it yet
Labeo:
if you mean cut out for the fogs, no it doesn't hurt the hood. I had to hammer the inside front of the hood, pull the front lip out and raise the hood latch a bit in order for the hood to close. I may go yellow on the grill but we'll see''' I don't want too much yellow on the exterior...what do you think? yellow or no?
Regarding the vents, if you look at JHO's open hood, there are metal braces that were cut out in order for the 2 side vents to fit. The 323 GTR has an entire metal assembly that goes on under there... I remember seeing that...just putting on the vents is a somewhat ghetto way of doing it... it works, but it's not the real deal...
Maybe I'll go see 323 GTR and go look at his hood... lucky stiff has 2 323 GTR's now...

[QUOTE=labeo;704598]Maybe with a yellow bezel around the foglights?
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
.....................no...
lol...
Nope I'm going black on that for sure... my son suggested same but I think it would rice it up too much...But wow, thanks for photoshopping that pic labeo!
It gave me a good idea as to what it would look like!
So today I did a bit more to it and it's taking shape nicely... I worked the left side today, right side needs some more fiberglassing. Att. pics are: sandblasted underneath (note ball peen hammer marks) grinded outside to bare metal, fiberglass bondo and reshaping of left circle. These hoods are prone to rust as you can see... I worked that hood 3 years ago...won't have to worry about it anymore because it won't see rain or winters anymore and now it's sealed in fiberglass:
