Using the Corksport vents as a template, I then traced the inside and outside perimeters with a sharpie once I had everything lined up and centred. Removed he templates then cut the insides using a dremel and zip cuts. On the long straights I used my 4" grinder with a zip cut wheel on it.

Once the holes were cut I took the oem vents, dabbed liquid paper onto the tips of the screws and pressed them gently onto the hood following the traced marks I had on the hood from the other set. Worked well... drilled 1/4" holes into the hood, installed the oem vents and scribbed the inside edges of the vents onto the hood. Puled the vents off, cut some more with the dremel.91 GT- Li'l Bee (under construction)

Paint complete
Spray bombed the underneath with an epoxy based hi temp paint yesterday, then 2 coats of base coat and 4 coats of clear on top. Needed to put lots of clear because I had some major orange peel... there is still some however not as bad as when I had 2 coats of it...Not much interested in wet sanding...I'll give it 24 hrs to dry then install the vents.
Notice the small dents from a ball peen hammer on the inside front lip... needed to do that so the hood would close and clear the fog light grill. I would have filled those holes with bondo or a sheet of fiberglass, but it would have ended up touching again so I left it like that... no biggie...91 GT- Li'l Bee (under construction)

Thanks! The underneath will need another coat...I used the epoxy paint there and as u can see it didn't quite darken enough... that front part was down to the bare metal the rear part wasn't. I think this is also a sign that I should paint and clear coat the engine bay instead of using that paint...91 GT- Li'l Bee (under construction)

GTR bumper
Started on the GTR bumper. Drilled out the spot welds at the mounting points on the driver's side straightened it out and bolted it up for now until I can test fit it with the bumper cover on the parts car outside as it has fenders on it, my GT doesn't. Needs a bit of tweaking still it's pointing downwards a bit. I also fixed the kink in the cover...clamped it up using a steel flatbar to straighten it then put a heat gun to it... turned out perfect...
I was wondering how long it would take to cut a finger or something while I cut out the grill, as it was bound to happen... nicked a finger and thought that would be the end of it until I deeply stabbed my thumb with the utility knife....bled like a stuck pig!!
As you can see, the grill was replaced...not quite finished but it will look good!Last edited by Wilyb; 05-03-2012, 09:20 AM.91 GT- Li'l Bee (under construction)
