Used cavity wax inside the fender panels, then fiber glassed the holes shut... this cavity wax comes from a friend who works at Kia. There was a recall on a certain Kia model, I don't remember which one it was but the recall was on the subframe; it rotted. The fix was to spray this cavity wax inside to stop it from rusting. He gave me several cans...91 GT- Li'l Bee (under construction)

Phase II : Trailing arms
The last thing I need to do is the trailing arm mounts. As you know, the Pros and the Escorts are notorious for rotting at the trailing arm supports in front of the rear driver's side wheel well..salt side... I was going to cut the supports out and weld new ones in there, but considering that I will need to move outta here in July and the car needs to come with me, I will sandblast, clean and weld new metal at strategic spots. I thing the trailng arm supports will be good enough for now if I sandblast clean and preserve them. I need to git'er done so first thing is to clean **** up... pics will follow. I hoisted the rear of the car and have supported it in a way where I can access it without too much discomfort. The engine hoist is simply there to protect it from dropping. Most of the weight is on the blocks, with the chain on the hoist tightened up for safe measure.91 GT- Li'l Bee (under construction)

Lmao!! yeah its all good man...thank you kindly for the concern though... its supported underneath at the center of the doors. It actually supports itself from there. The engine hoist is the safety just in case it decides to tilt.
But it shouldn't . I have the chain on the engine hoist snugged up a bit to take just a bit o0f the weight off the center...the 2 blocks in front have a rubber seat on the top where the tow hooks sink into.91 GT- Li'l Bee (under construction)

Started on the rear end of the car yesterday ... I will let the pics speak for themselves. Since I need to move come summer, I need to get as much done on this car as possible ... the metal looks good enough to last a while ... I’m going to rust convert it, possibly replace some metal here and there. Then I’ll get it painted then soak it in oil. We’ll see about restoring it properly later. As long as it doesn’t see winter it should last several years.91 GT- Li'l Bee (under construction)

Knock knock...
Hullo??
Anybody home?
lol...
Well, I'll be damned if I don't finish this friggin' car... so back at it I go...I'm committed to getting to the end of this and I WILL have this whip ready for next summer... BANK ON IT!
I have been working on it here and there, and have begun the reconstruction of the trailing arm brackets, and the rear frame...the following pics will display the progress...
I need to learn how to shrink these pics down and get them upright... bear with me...Last edited by Wilyb; 08-21-2018, 04:48 PM.91 GT- Li'l Bee (under construction)
