And like I said, hear me out, I'm not done...I have officially pulled the 93 GT off life support and have begun harvesting it's body parts... so to speak...lol... Less the shell, I have another entire 93 stored in boxes in my garage plus 3 Engines (2 BP05's and 1 FE3), 3 gearboxes, 2 windscreens, 3 rear windows, 16 doors, 3 rear bumpers, 3 trunklids, 3 bonnets, 2 front bumpers not including the GTR one So I'll transform the 91 into a 93:I think I've owned 8 BG's since I fell in love with these cars back around 2004; I still own a 91 GT. The previous owner had it oil treated every year. I took a look at the rear trailing arms as well as the entire underneath of the car and it's healthy... needs love but it's healthy. And it was too quick a look as you will soon see in the upcoming pics... but I won't give up... So I inspected the obvious spots for rust and corrosion ( driver's side front inner fender seam ) and was satisfied that I could save this car. I didn't bother looking at the rear strut towers as I had looked at them a couple of years ago...So Off to work I went. Looking at the 91, I knew I needed to redo the fender flares, it was obvious. So by cutting out the fender flares on the 93, I officially killed it. I would have rather saved the 93 GT since there were only 500 built (compared to the 1500 91 GT's built), but so be it. anyway enough rambling; pics:
That's a real killer sham,That strut tower work was savage,I thought that would save the day
was gonna say I was looking forward to the new build thread but I see it will be a Frankenstein, and you have your work cut out for you again with the new car too,..

I re read the whole thread after I seen u were pulling the plug and there's a lot of great and inspirational stuff in it,but it did look like it was a heap of stop gap work in the 93 needed again and was looking like you would be battling the rustforever,....when i see the level of rust your dealing with,I feel a bit sheepish talking about mine now.
But the uk cars I got have identical problems to yours,....I guess they're a bit meaner with the salt here in Ireland

    Keep up the stellar work.

Deck is removed, and the strut towers are exposed...what a mess... I see the inner fenders are rotten... pics will come once the strut towers are out...first, tmw I'll pull the sub frame and gas tank.

Viper, if it turns out this car is beyond repair, I'll be getting rid of all kinds of stuff. I'll know within the next couple of weeks.
I pulled the gas tank and sub frame yesterday, and am in the process of pulling the strut towers. If the inner fenders are too bad, then I'm calling it a life... I could always use the ones from the 93...
I think the gas tank as well as the goose neck was replaced at one point in time. There were some tell tale signs. the cages around the square nuts for the trailing arms were destroyed and a nut on one of the gas tank straps wasn't fully secured.
