its been several months since i have updated this. its time for a few new updates.

over summer i had the car in class for a few weeks. i did a few modifications during that time. I had removed my steering rack to install a de-powered mx-3 rack, i ran into complications with that install so i reinstalled the original rack with the steering lines cut. I installed mx-3 LCAs with energy suspension bushings. I removed the A/C compressor, lines and condensor as well as all the power steering lined and pump.

Fall. In october i removed the evaporator case so that i could pull the last remaining A/C part. A good day at the junkyard got me the proper bracket to mount the mx-3 center console finally (after months of it just sitting in its position).

Last week i gave in and purchased a new set of headlights on eBay. I couldnt deal with the hazy old headlights anymore. my foglights emitted more light than the headlights. i have yet to take a picture of the new look of my car. i will post it up once i do.

Today i purchased 04 mazdaspeed miata rear calipers and rotors as well as replacement brackets for my addco rsb. up next on the list are a couple sets of camber bolts so that i can properly align my car.

today i installed the rear brake upgrade. 04 Mazdaspeed Miata calipers and rotors. Rotor diameter increases from 9.8" to 10.8" took a few hours because i had to keep running back to my apt for more tools. looks really nice compared to my old rotors and calipers.

Did you have to use a spacer bracket to mount them or just pnp?

i had to use two 3/8" washers between the bracket and the spindle, on each bolt

yes they are centrics. cheapest i could find.

centrics are good for the money, ill probably get some miata centrics, my egt ones are already....

blew the head gasket out on thursday. brought it into school today and started taking the head off. didnt get very far because i had to get to my next class. depending on the severity of the engine or head i want to rewire my harness and remove the plugs i dont need anymore. i also plan on shaving some things and doing a wire tuck of sorts

got the head off today. a piece of the gasket was hanging out from between the layers. oddly no signs of coolant in the combustion chambers, even tho coolant was coming out my exhaust. the valves are black, pistons are dark. i can still see some crosshatching on the cylinder walls but there is also some scuffing in cylinders 2 and 3. i need to replace the water pump, timing belt, tensioners, coolant hoses, head gasket. the head is warped .002" so i need to get that machined. i think im going to just get a replacement engine. and a new clutch.

here is the engine bay shot. looks like crap. i also moved the evap can lower down on the firewall. and plan on moving some wires around to tuck them
