Got a quote on the trailing arms from Altrom. They do not sell to retail customers. I would ask your local Parts Source, Napa or Car Quest ect. if they have a supply parts from Altrom. If so you can buy all the goodies listed on their site!

I will PM you on the Pacesetter's on Tuesday

Photos from the last trip to the garage!

I started the day by removing the front bumper.

I then removed the fenders to see if there was any rust under them. There wasn't :D
      (well no holes anyway)

The under bottle holes! (both front corners)

The under bottle hole right rear.

Small hole in right rear inner fender.

Then I took out the crusty 323 rear subframe.

I took off the rear bumper and tail lights too.

Took the doors off and what was left of the wiring out of the interior.

I took out all the plumbing remaining wiring.

I have almost ran out of things to take off! Next round I am going to attack the rear trailing arms, patch some holes, remove some....ah....I mean MANY broken bolts then I am going to clean the bottom of the floor and give the whole works a nice coat of flat black rust paint.

When I got tired I looked lovingly at my wheels.

I would like to have it on the road for the summer, so some bar's will be held LOL. My number one priority is to have it be very reliable and safe. My second priority is to have it run under 14.00 at the track.

Will do. A couple has promised me their sons running driving 1994 MX-3 V6 for $500.00 just as soon as they find him a replacement car. (it's rusty). I have joint custody of my ten year old son, so I have him for two weeks and the X has him for two weeks. The weeks he is with us I don't usually get much work done on the car. My son and I did assemble my new parts washer and 3 tonne jack though. He was having a blast lifting me up with the jack. We also applied racing decals to the jack and the parts washer to make them "go faster" LOL. The next round will be Sunday night.

                The goals for Sunday night:
                -Repair "bottle holes"
                -Remove trailing arms
-Remove all the broken bolts and re-tap the holes and fix them.
-Clean the bottom of the floor

Altrom doesn't make MX3 rear trailing arms (which are slightly longer than 323/Escort/Protege) ones.

All they make them for is the 323/Escort/Protege length. When you look up your MX3 with their lookup (available FREE to look at, on Altrom.com), you will see there is no MX3 rear suspension links listed.

Try it. I did. (worked at PartSource for a while).

P.S. Jack (Mazda_Powered) bought the first set of the Altrom arms through me a couple of months ago.

I think they cost around $150 for the set with taxes.

I peered out from the castle window and looked over the splendor of ROTM county. Yes, twas' a much simpler time back then. Peasants would go about their postings, and I, the mod, would rule over them with an iron fist.

why buy new when you can get used trailing arms? 3rd gen escorts are easy to find in great shape, then just slap some new poly bushings in them!

You can do a custom poly bushing for the rear TTLs as well. It's a universal 4-bar Energy Suspension bushing. If you're interested i'll dig up a part number. So just send some mx-3 ones out to be soda blasted!
