323Permin's 323 SE transformation into a GT

    Well not alot to report on updating the car . I found myself some camber bolts from H&R and installed them .

    They claim to give you the ablility to get up to 3 degrees negative camber .

    So I will see when I take it to get the full 4 wheel alignment done .

    Other than that I have driven abit more and its getting better each time .

    I took it to a show and shine with my father and uncles cars last weekend. Here is a link to some pictures of the show.

          So, I went out and got the full 4 wheel alignment done today .

          It made a difference . It cruises nice and straight on the free way at 140Kms :0) .

          The 626 5th gear swap works well ...






          And seeing that it was a nice sunny day ..

          I drove it a good 100 -150Kms to get some miles on the drive train and break in all the brakes.

            Car look great out in the sunshine today... I sure enjoyed the ride in it... Makes me wonder how much I want to go to solid mounts... Might drive my son nuts.. lol...

              Ya I dont think you want to go to the solid mounts for your daily driver .

              But if you are just going to only race the 323 eventually ..then go for it .

              I drove it a bunch more after dropping you off. ( just over 200Kms on it today ..lol )

              Once I parked it back in the garage and got into the DD Protege, it was like I was driving a cushy BMW

                You're addicted to your car lol, I do the same, just drive around. Glad she's driving straight, I'm still having alignment issues even though it's been to the shop. Apparently my "strut bearings" were seized so they aligned it anyways?, and it drives like ass (bearings aren't seized either lol)

                  permin, your car is beautiful. ill never think otherwise, because every picture i see makes me drool. lol.
                  and jack, thats some bull****. you should have different people do your alignment if it still feels bad.
                  loves BGs too much for his own good...

                  93 pro lx. daily runaround until a straight shell can be had.

                      I haven't been following this too closely but an amazing job on the finished product! The 323 looks great and clean with all the right parts. I miss driving a BG ...

                        Thanks Lex .... I will hopefully will buying up turbo goodies to modify it in the winter.

                        If I can find some work soon :0) ..

                              @ triple zoom ...

                              To do a 5th gear swap in a G series transmission you are looking for a 5th gear set from a 88-92 MX-6 or 626 " Non-Turbo" model .

                              Its a straight swap and will lower the rmps about 500 from original factory 5th gear.

                                correct me if im wrong, but i seem to recall hearing of people [protoss, an old super mod] using the f series 5th gear in the g series.
                                loves BGs too much for his own good...
