      @ 92dx and Durwood ... and everyone else :0)

I dont have anything to compare the block to ... so hence my freak out ..

As I have been searching the web for pictures of BP crank/bottom ends , I am starting to realize that they have this hole in them .

      Like this shot .

So false alarm ... sorry everyone. Inexperience on my part. Learning something new everyday

Happens. I once thought my block was junk because of the crank thrust bearing slots. Forgot they were supposed to be there.

The bumper is slowly coming along . I have it completely stripped of all paint , bondo etc .

Its starting from scratch and will be repaired with the right materials this time around.

And this weekend Crazycanadian ( Adam ) and I went out to the local pick apart for some things he was needing for his build.

As we walked around we found two MX6 2.2L turbo GT's. and a Escort GT . I was able to get two of the Knock control boxes off
the MX-6's and one knock sensor.

Does Anyone know if the knock sensor off the 2.2L turbo ( F2T) will be the same as the knock sensor used on the GTR motor ??

or at least will work as suitable replacement?

Plus I removed some bits off the escort , a BP05 disty for a spare, drivers front fender for cheapescortcan.

And I still need to go back to remove the crank pulley assembly to get the timing belt pulley I need to replace on the GTR motor.

Next time I will take some pics of the cars in the wrecking yard for everyone...

knock sensor is the same for the GTX unit, so I'd imagine the GTR would be the same man. Lookin real sharp tho!!! I wish I had PC parts lol

So alittle Auto-X action today !!

Crazycanadain ( aka Adam ) came out to run the car with me today . His is still in the stages of the complete engine refit.

So, he brought along his R-comps and wheels and we ran the car double overtime, which helped get the necessary heat into them to gain the traction we needed.

And that is what we did :0) so much so we started to cook the fronts too much.

This is Adams fastest run 53.6 seconds , he is always just that much faster than me :0(

But I was able to pull a time of 54.4 seconds right behind him ....

Congrats Rob on finishing up 6th out of 32 in the Novice group.. You had the 3rd fastest Raw time out of all the novices.. I am looking forward to seeing where you end up in the novice standings..

Small up date ... the continueing saga of collecting parts

So, I have ordered up a full race oil pump from Boundary Engineering ( billet gears ) + 25% more flow to the motor.

Yesterday I got my OEM Mazda BP engine gasket kit, Bosch water pump and Gates Racing Timing Belt and timing pulley kit.

I just need to wait for the oil pump and then I am going to assemble the complete bottom end .

Which has , ARP head and main bolts , Eagle H-beam Rods, 84mm Wiseco Pistons, full ACL Race main and rod bearings.

Once thats done time to save some more $$$$$ as I need to buy a custom Cometic head gasket.

I will be tearing into the head and see what work has to be done with it....

Supertech SPRK-1012-M18D Dual Valve Springs ??? or leave it stock :0) ha ha

This engine build is putting me into the poor house .... I have an addiction problem . LOL

Oh and I brought home a new VJ23... well a shiney working one at least. It took two VJ-23's to make a fully functional one.

I got the compessor housing polished by a local guy in my neighbourhood.
The turbo was then taken to westcoast fuel injection and turbo , which is here in BC, Canada.

They took two of the VJ23s and made a workable one for my build.
