Thanks, wonder if that monster would fit on the OEM oil filter housing on a mx3 or the like.. I had a AEM one before and was MUCH smaller. Anyways, progress is awesome keep it up!

It should fit, the Autometer senders are the same size (with 1/8 NPT threads) and they fit in the stock location.

Today I took the engine out and stripped the chassis down to finish the body work.

I did find the JC-04 ground, and it was properly grounded, so my only 2 alternatives are computer (from a '93 626 V6 5sp, CA emissions) not liking to work with the mx3 harness (the MX6 equivalent worked fine with the last 323), OR the interior chassis harness that I purchased brand new was the '94 & up and not compatible with the 92 other wires...either way that will get sorted out later.

not to get way off subject but.....

i live in eastern washington. rain is not even a climate factor here. its sunny weather or snowing. the snow lasts 2-3 months along with sub freezing but no salt is used. so its the best case of all things combined. an i have a heated garage so im not going to complain at all! here is my forcast from today. 22 degrees outside. 60 in the garage heater on low. thank you bugs-clayton!

You wont have a computer problem if it wont crank over at all.... The computere does nothing to activate the starter soliniod.. You'll have to look at your starting circuit to make sure all your wiring is run and hooked up correct from the ignition switch...

^^Makes sense, I'll trace the wires next time around.

Got half the flares installed...it was a bit harder than I thought, especially the rear. Frotn was hard because of the big tires so I had to cut some things - like the pinch weld that goes up from the front mud flap area, then re-welding that seam shut since it's a structural member.

Front fenders were a cake to cut and bolt the flares to, even front bumper required trimming along with the little 'pockets' where the stock fluid overflow bottle & washer bottle go.

In the rear the quarter panel has an underpanel that is spot welded at the lip, so when you cut the outer part, you have to leave the inner a little longer so you can pull it up and weld it back to the quarter panel to restore the structural rigidity of the part...

                          Pics on friday-ish...

When you trace the wires becarefull.. Mazda did some interesting things with the starting circuit.. They ran it threw the body harness under the dash to the clutch switch, but if you had an auto it would just have jumper wire connected in it.. from there it ran out to where the neutral safty switch would be if you had an auto transmission and then back down to the starter.... They did this so that you could plug and play an auto or standard with out changing the wiring harness..

I just did my first auto to manual and swap on a bg.. was real nice to just have to jumper the auto safety switch... Just put it on a switch and used the empty slot for awd protege used a spare mx3 defrost swith..
