oil pump is out, but one of the screws which hold the steel cover to the housing almost stripped on me. later, with an impact driver, i was able to get all of them out including the damaged one.
does anyone have the part number for these phillips head bolts? i'd really like to just replace all of them.

hey so if you did offer an adapter plate for this trans would it work to bolt up a BP to a corolla All-trac trans? A buddy of mine has a rotted out low miles All-trac station wagon he's looking to get rid of :D
no it wont, i'm pretty sure the corolla alltrac used some form of the 4AG
this adapter plate will work with 3SGTE and 1MZFE transmissions
...how rotted out btw?

I just texted him and he said it might be a camry, did they make an AWD Camry?
according to wikipedia the camry all trac had a 3S-FE? a whole other animal I suppose?
if its a camry alltrac then it should work. the 3SFE should have the same bolt pattern as the 3SGTE. it may not be as strong as the turbo transmission (mainly in the rear transfer) but it should still be much stronger than the mazda stuff...

i havent seen many in the area, i almost wonder if its one of our old ones, they were out your way nerd.... the ones we had were 85 camry all trac 5 speeds, therye about the size of the old 323 but boxy, i was wondering about those parts for the pro's too.... see if theye tan or dark brown, id probably even recongnise one ...
its a white camry he texted me a picture. I am going to try and snag it from him for sure. after that I am going to look for a 323 when I get the money.
ok so we made a ton of progress today i will have pics after dinner
we are having some clearance issues and i need some opinions. would it be better to move the entire drivetrain forward ~1" or up ~1"? i am pretty sure either will cure our clearance problems (inner cv joints vs. subframe)

Move it up. You can make spacers for all the mounts and then elongate the hole for the pass side mount. U move it toward u will have to adjust for the difference in too many place exhaust, shifted linkage exc.
