    aiming for this weekend *crosses fingers*

    i still may have to tackle an axle binding issue, there is not much free play in the inner CV's. we'll see how much there is with the car on the ground.

        it should be just fine, i have front camber plates so i can correct it to whatever i want. i dont think they would move things out so far that i'd run out of threads on the tie rods or anything.

        oh yeah, i found one flaw with the setup. because there is so little room around the inner cv joints, i need to disconnect all except the passenger side mount in order to remove the drivers side axle.

        also, we decided not to tie the ends of the K frame into the crossmember because i am 99% sure that my good ol' corksport lower tie bar will still fit.

              great link! I've torn down G-series myself a few times, and seeing the internals on that E153 makes the G box look like a joke!

                Those are some awesome mounts! The crosssmember looks good to there definetly is beauty in simplicity.

                What kind of welder did he use? I'd guess a tig from the consistency and lack of spatter/heat discoloration.

                        ive never had to mod the drivers side mount and i think my passengers side mount is much simpler im curious how you have run into so many clearance issues to need to remount the engine so extensively

                              Have you ever mounted one in a FWD BG chassis? I looked into this and couldn't find any info. The frame rails are completely different and the rack sits quite a few inches lower. The control arms are also supported by a bulky stamped steel cross member (in the fwd) instead of a set of brackets. Different animal entirely.

                                all the welding is gas shielded mig

                                ran into a bit of trouble getting the trans apart (torx bolts... ugh) and then again at reassembly when one of the shift gates moved out of alignment. its gotta come apart again...

                                also having issues with mismatched shifters and cables etc etc. not looking good for tihs weekend.
