the BPT specs are so close to the stock BP cams you could just throw some adjustable cams on there and get it almost spot on. no need to regrind anything.

i swapped cams because of the additional lift, mainly. i had BPT cams in there already.

ryan, overlap is difficult to calculate because there is no standardized way to measure opening and closing between different manufacturers (which i mentioned above). i adjusted the gears so that my lobe center angles are in the same place as the BPT cams... should be close enough for now.

a little extra overlap isnt such a horribly bad thing either, especially with the high boost levels i'm running. i'm still pulling 21" of vacuum at idle so its definitely pretty minimal overlap.

calculated it by assuming that the cam lobes are symmetrical (which they appear to be)

I'd be very interested to see what this would do for the top end.

would you have a loopy idle now also because of these cams with the higher lift?

lift doesnt cause a loping idle, excessive duration/overlap does. so in short, no... it idles just like stock.

Its crazy that you have the same mph. I would have thought it would have been faster to pull 11s. I though 120 was an 11s trap speed.

i went from drag radials to bias ply slicks... slicks have a MUCH higher rolling resistance, so trap speed suffers.

if i could get it out of the hole with drag radials on it, i'm sure it would trap 119-120

Not like it matters anyway. 11s is 11s no matter how you put it. Congrats on the hard work and hopefully 10s isn't too far out of your future. Also can't remember but what interior do you have in the car, or is it just a race seat?
