Exactly what chad just said. It gets real foggy in europe(from what I've heard) that its safer to have bright headlights(hence why they're glass and will never get that dreaded yellow haze) and the rear panel has the bright lights in them. Volvo and a few other high end companys have them oem here. Just look for 1 that passes you at night and look for the brighter red lights in back.

Also since you're in germany, you could probably make some change and get us some 323/protege goodies

So I finally spent a little time with the 'ol girl. I got the hole in the floor welded, which turned out to be a lot bigger than it looked. I also installed some basic maintenance; like plugs, wires, cap and rotor, valve cover gasket, fuel filter (one of the most often forgotten maintenance and let me just say it was WAY over due), and an axle boot. Now I just need to really start on the rust repair. I think I will be a second hatch just to cut up and use the body parts I need. If that happens watch out for some e-spec stuff for sale.

            Update 20.12.:
I started a LPG/natural gas injection installation. There is no performance addition to doing this just simply cheaper driving. With gas prices here over 2 usd pro liter, driving with LPG costs about half. The installation consist of the tank, a reducer, second injectors, and a second computer. I spent all day yesterday and should have spend today working on it, but my boss was a bit too lazy today to stop by and let me in the shop... The worst part is last night I broke a bolt off in the head for the thermostat. Damn thing has been leaking into the threads for years. So I wanted to get everything finished to day and the car back on the street, but no luck. Good thing I have a second car to drive.

nice! yea i helped with a propane conversion on a truck at our college. It was a fun job! So what's the kit going to cost you? With gas prices that high, anything will help haha.

was actually reading about propane installs & theories behind liquid/vapor systems
are you running the gtx motor with propane?

It's just a BP... But I could run a gtx with propane. The computer is actually a lot like the megasquirt, well other than being able to adjust timing. My cost for the system will be 1000 Euro. Way expensive, but it will pay for itself after about a year or so. With the computer I can program a fuel/gas overlap at higher rpm's. So if I want/can boost the car, than I can use both together. That works nicely while lpg is 120 octane, but our crappiest gas here is also 92 octane. I read somewhere that euro octane is different than in the states.?.? Can anyone verify this?

So now I'm at a stand still waiting for a regulator valve that goes inside the tank. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow. That would make me really happy, but I won't hold my breath. Oh and I got the broken bolt out by welding a nut onto the last couple of threads that stuck out of the motor. Worked WAY better than trying to drill it out.

nice man, hope the conversion goes well! the only thing i dont like about the gas conversions is the power loss tho especially with the BPs low c/r ratio, you'll be loosing lots of power.

Actually all of the gas installations I've done have increased power and engine efficiency. A friend of mine has a mx3 with autogas and it has a noticable increase. But like I said, this isn't about the power it's about cutting down driving costs. Oh one last thing: autogas in europe is not like natural gas or propaine in the states. I'll have to do some quick research and learn a bit more about it, then I'll explain it better...

Ok, conversion is done, tuned, and running perfect. I have almost no noticeable powerloss. At wide open throttle with LPG and than switching to gas gives no jolt or anything from the fuel change-over. I would say there is no more than 0.3% power loss. I'll give it a real test these next couple of days as I need to drive a couple hundred kilometers... I'll get some pics of the install when I have a chance.
