Managed to sneak out to the garage to play this Sunday.

I got some goodies that will aid in the eventuality of the installation of the engine

Got some stainless bolts for the valve covers. I installed the new valve cover gaskets too.

Ran all new Vibrant silicone hoses to the VRIS system.

Reassembled the fuel rails and intake manifold.

I have a few things left to figure out, but the engine is almost ready to go in the car.

On the WTF list is the throttle cable bracket and how to run the coolant lines to the throttle body.

The left throttle bracket is off the KLZE and it fits the manifold. The right one is off the MX-3 and it fits the throttle cable, likely fits the 323, and does not line up or fit of the KLZE manifold LOL.

when swapping manifolds, you always have to get custom with the throttle cable bracket... I usually only have it bolted down by 1 bolt.. never had an issue but its only way to get it to work right (without drilling holes)

Well I'm lame and forgot my camera lol. Either way they're not to complicated.

You'll see where the heater core hoses hook up too, and there will be 2 coolant nipples there lol. Those are the ones for the TB...to be honest, I was considering looping the lines to bring the coolant away from the intake.

I guess it really does not matter which one goes to which as it is just a flow through to warm up the throttle body?

I was thinking about looping it too, but I plan on driving it right until it snows, so I was thinking I should hook it up?

I was reading up on IACs and coolant...they don't need coolant flowing through for them to work and be efficient. I found out most German cars come with external IACs (mounted right off the intake with a short piece of rubber hose) and they're only 2 ports and an electrical connection

^^ yup, throttle body de-icing isnt needed for these type of engines. Looping it will be fine but you wont have heat Hope you dont plan on driving in winter without heat
