damn that rad hose turned out perfect! I'm gonna have to come see this car soon and drop off that front lip lol.

So you're changing your brake MC to fit the straight neck on?? how come you're so determined to run the straight neck? lol because of the work you've sunk into it?

Kool!, I may actually be ready for the front lip LOL

I am trying to be a kool kid, and every kool kid in the Mazda world has a straight neck KLZE.LOL

Seriously though (in my opinion) if you swap the manifold maximum performance in compromised because you have mismatched components. improper VRIS points ect. I think to have the curved neck run 100% you would need a stand alone or a new computer chip. My research of the available aftermarket chips frightened me. None of them seem to be tuned for the curve neck. Maybe MX-6-4ev-ah or who ever has a perfect chip, but I thrust Mazda engineers more LOL. If i get the stoopid thing to fit it will be just as Mazda intended it to be. A Factory combination of matching VAF, ECM and engine.

On that note got my MX-6 master and it is better then I imagined. This one does not even have the un-machined port on the top. (another 1/2" clearance gained!) Thinking I should be able to run a 90 degree intake coupler off the throttle body with no clearance issues.

how would the new brake master cylinder from a mx6/probe help your clearance?? is it shorter?? if you can find a non ABS BHA astina v6 in europe youd have perfect clearance.

I removed the fluid reservoir and remote mounted it. My new clearance issue is the hard brake line sticking straight up out of the end of the 323 master. On the MX-6 master the offending line is on the left side rather then sticking straight up. This has gained me about an inch of clearance. I have not tested it yet, but I believe that I will now have the room I will need to put silicone 90 degree intake fitting on the throttle body. As a bonus the MX-6 master I got does not even have the un-machined bump in the top, as many of the aftermarket masters do. The 323 /MX-6 booster is used on a few cars, some aftermarket ones have all the ports cast in, and your application determines which ones have threaded brake fitting holes.

Have a second look at the pictures on page 16

Got some new goodies for the car today.

MX-3 V6 catback (Pacesetter) It was sitting in the warehouse and my boss gave me a deal I could not refuse

Got some speed bleeders for it too.

Worked on the car all weekend. It runs and drives. It is a mess with a grocery list of things to tidy and fix still, so don't mind the everything everywhere in the pics.

                Master cylinder fix:
So originally I used some push lock fittings and brake fluid proof hose to relocate the master cylinder reservoir.

It was close but no cigar. The hard brake line was in the way of where a intake 90 degree silicone coupler would be.

                A MX-6 master solved the problem. MX-6 silver / 323 black

                Now the intake elbow fits.

The intake is 90% done. I am going to shorten it a few inches and add a support bracket. The 3 1/2" clamp is missing in the photo. A last minute raid of the Vibrant wall at work made for a pretty complete intake. I put a small piece of 3" aluminum pipe in the intake and ordered a 19mm fitting and grommet for the valve cover breathers.

Support bracket I ordered. Hard to figure out by the picture, but it attaches to the T-bolt clamps to hold the intake up.

I used a not so scientific way to drill the hole for the 1/8" tap needed for my coolant air bleed.

So in theory you can push the valve open and bleed the air out of the coolant system. I have not tried it out yet.

Made MX-326 GS heater hoses with these cool hose benders from Goodyear.

                Made brackets for the rad.

                Installed the fan

Installed the smancy coolant jug that can not even be seen LOL Should have went with a beer can in retrospect.

Sunday August/7/2011 10:45PM the MX-326GS literally roared to life though open headers. I was thrilled, my neighbors not so much. LOL. It ran surprisingly good on the K8 computer. (I do have a JDM KL36 for it). I drove it down and up the driveway. My angry neighbors and marginal clutch action ended my fun for the night. I ordered a new clutch slave. The original was sticky, it took forever to bleed and was missing the boot and looked as though it was formerly bolted to the Titanic. Speaking of bleeding, I installed speed beeders to the cailipers when I put the new master and new shaped front passenger brake line. I don't think speed bleeders work if the system is dry. Tried for an hour to bleed the brakes and I could not even get brake fluid out of the front lines. I swapped in the old bleed screws and brake fluid filled the system instantly. I re-installed the speed bleeders, bleed it again, now the pedal is rock hard. The speed bleeders work great, just don't use them with new dry brake components.

Note: the fuel system was a 2 minute temp job (6' of hose laying all over the intake). I have a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator planned.

For your MC issue, you could use a MX3 V6 master/booster combo. It's shorter but only has 2 outlets, so you need a different prop valve. The MC piston itself is slightly larger btw.

The MX-6 one took care of the issue. Do you have photographic proof of your claim? (KLZE straight neck in a 323 with a MX-3 master booster). I would be curious to see it, and curious to know if it is was a bolt-in.

Isn't the 323 booster the same as the MX3 RS booster? If so, then its possible that it would work. But from what i remember the GS booster was smaller in dia but longer in depth.

I am not to sure about the GS booster, but I was told my klde swapped 323 has an escort gt booster in it and that is narrower then the GS mx3 booster...

GS has a different booster/MC combo. You have to use them together. My car is gone and the MC with it so I can't get you meausurements but that's what I had on my car and the MC was sticking slightly less than the stock one. The braking was slightly better. Any GS will have it, can maybe measure it in a jy.
