Went to the Guelph Spring Cruise today. I had a blast, really enjoyed the car today. It's handling capabilities are much higher then my courage level. I assumed it would be reasonably fast in a straight line, but it's balance and level of grip were a surprise in the cork screws and switch backs. A few shots of my beast, and if your interested click on the link to see all the cars. (There are many MR-2's as a number of car clubs have combined including a MR-2 club).

Thanks guys. The best part of the day is when one of the cruisers asked: What kind of engine is powering that F*&^%in' thing? LOL

I hate when people make excuses about how slow they ran, so I am not listing my excuse list on principle. LOL

I had a hard time launching it. The 14.625 was my best N/A pass and the 14.04 was my best nitrous pass. The MPH's tell the real story. The car is performing pretty much the same as your average MX-3 with a KLZE swap.

who cares what the 1/4 mile tells you, as long as you're happy with the car

I have some tricks up my sleeve for the next outing. I have 225/50/15 drag radials which should fix two problems. First: I would hope they will help the 2.3 60' times and Second: they should help the MPH cause the 205/50/15's were too short and I was rev maxed in 4th crossing the line. (A MX-3 KLZE usually squeeks through, but they have a taller 205/55/15 tire stock). I am also going to jet the juice to 100HP. I had it jetted at 75HP because I was unsure of my JDM junkyard motor. The engine is running great, not using oil, it loved the 75HP shot, so it has earned my 100HP jet trust.

Future plans include a bottle heater, MSD RPM activated switch to activated the nitrous (Shifting while squeeling tires and reaching for a switch gets complicated). I may throw a LSD in too, short of that, I am done with pursuing lower ET's as the car was built to be a fun daily driver and not a full-on drag car. The car is a blast to drive on the street, to get better ET's I think the MX-3 transmission would have to go or at least the gear ratios would have to be changed, (which would likely make it less fun on the street). Looks like changing the third gear ratio, or swaping in a MX-6 trans is the ticket for quicker 1/4 mile times. Really quick KLZE MX-3 trans-ed guys resort to shifting into 5th! in the quarter LOL. I kinda assumed a V6 323 would be faster then a MX-3 because it is lighter, which is true to a certain extent, although looks like the transmission, not the weight/power is the limiting factor in KLZE 1/4 mile times. Well that and wrong wheel drive ;-)
