Thanks for the support and kind words.
I ordered some inexpensive seats today. Not unlike those bolted to a arcade game driving simulator LOL. I wanted something cheap, safe and new. The Jaz seats fit the bill. I can toss my nearly rusted through stock seat brackets and torn-up Mazda seat collection out now too. I have decided to just put two seats in it, as I will likely be the only one ever in it. (I have a stock 323, and a stock Civic sedan if I need to cart people around). I am poor, so I just ordered the seats and the brackets. I will order the seat covers later. (The covers snap onto the seats and have foam in them). I have to buy a sunroof after all :crying:

I bought a Rivet nut tool today too. I am going to rivet threads into the frame so I can bolt down all the wires and the nitrous line. I bought button head allen bolts to go in the nut-certs to hold all the cable and line clamps down.Dominic Toretto rocks a MaZda and his cell phone number starts in "(323)"

The factory moon roof should be close to that size. The aftermarket unit in mine was like 31" x 14". I think you could even do a 36" x 20" I think 36" would be dangerously close to where the sides of the roof get welded to the top of the roof. 20" long would be a hair away from the roof structure. Remember 36"x 20" is the size of the hole, and the unit will have a 1/2" to 3/4" frame all the way around it. If I was a master of measurement, or had bigger cojones I would try it. I think a 32" x 17" will be plenty big, with room to spare away from pinch welds and roof structure. Cutting the big hole will not be as nearly as scary with the 32" x 17". Sun roof note: A 36"x20" would be covered by the sunvisors. Thats why it is so far back LOL
New tool, a must have for those that own rusty Mazda's (Rivnut tool)
My new favorite tool
Boring update. Spent untold hours neatening all the interior wires. After about 20 miles of convoluted tubing and 3000 plastic ties things are looking good. Ran the nitrous line using rivnuts and a pile of cable ties.
Built a trunk organizer?! The hatch area had a swimming pool size spare tire hole.
The safety blow down tube needed an extension, sadly I had an extra blow down tube in my private stock of crap.
Could use a slight trim.
Got the stereo in. I actually had the "Mazda" stereo instal kit in my rubbermaid bin wrecking yard. Same one I went on and on about wishing I had.
Put the new shifter in. The car actually shifts now.
