Mazda_Powered's 91 Protege LX

    Ive had some pretty decent performance from my tbird hybrid. Netted me a 107mph trap on 15psi, which should be at around a 12.9 sec pass ( I ran a 13.5 with a 2.4 60') Not super fast but worth it IMO. If you can get one for cheap or have it already Id say do it. Tapping the center for the oil feed fitting is the "hardest" part.

      See I like your comment haha. It's going from a dinky 47 trim to a 55 trim with the Tbird comp wheel specs, so it's going to make more power...just a hair later in the power band, should kick harder than the VJ11/20 any day though.

          well I haven't done anything yet with the BG, trying to decide what I want to do with all the stuff that I got back with her lol...because there's a lot! the car is full minus the drivers seat lol. So I'm checkin a few local BP people to see if they want any of it before I bring it in to the metal recyclers. I'll be delivering them a disassembled BP, minus the block and oil pan (oil pan will be cleaned up and fitted with a new oil return line, something threaded vs slip and clamp this time).

          Then I can re-shampoo and detail the seats...because he didn't seem to care about protecting them when putting all this stuff in there...sooo blue and brown seats it is! :/

              I've decided to list my plans for the BG, because I don't plan on doing much other than what's listed here. Don't want to make it too unreliable and expensive haha.

              Suspension:

              Koni 86-2442 front inserts
              Conical upper hats for the front coilover setup (current running ST front lowering springs on KYBs)
              custom rear strut bar
              front tie bar

              Brakes:

              Porterfield R4-S? pads
              local generic rotors
              SS flex lines

              Drivetrain:

              VJ16 Tbird hybrid with w/e support mods that'll need to be done (injectors maybe?)
              2.5" turboback exhaust
              90AMP alt upgrade
              Ball bearing shifter linkage bushings
              Wideband O2

              Body:

              obviously body work and white paint lol
              Top Secret rear bumper
              finish front bumper
              Lengthen EGT skirts to fit

              Interior:

              Lower OEM LX front seats
              MX3 black carpet w/ black mats
              CDN headliner

              Plus some ridiculous low offset wheels...should make a fun car! haha

                  I've got a KL alt I had rebuilt for the 626, going to swap on the V belt pulley once I measure it and figure which wheel I need lol..

                          here's what I'll be doing for the rear strut bar as well. Contemplating on having it branch off to the rear and bolt up to the frame rail ends as well...provide a bit more rigidity.



                          Was also contemplating on making a front frame rail brace, much like the OEM crash guard, but stronger. I still don't get it why people remove them...they're still a brace, just nothing to go bragging about haha.
