      Thanks Jace. I can finally drive it around now. It still needs but I'm not too worried about anything falling off anymore.

          Not much progress of late. It occurs to me that a donor car would fix a lot of problem I'm having. Tranny in the DD, a whole bunch in interior, glass, ect. If I find something this summer for the right price----we'll see how things go.

                  The good, the bad, and the supper bad.
                  Anyone know how to fix that rear window defogger lead? I discovered that's a pretty important feature in a car.

                    That leaning passenger seat can be leveled out. If you throw a Protege rail on the outer half, and leave the MX3 inner half there, you will have a level seat. Requires some minor drilling, but I used those seats in my 4wd too. Just one more reason for a donor car! I miss my 4wd. Wish I never had to get rid of it.

                    Looks awesome btw! And I believe there is some sort of conductive glue out there, just for repairing rear defrosters. I remember reading about it years ago.

                      Need, LX center console with cup holder. Just my preference.
                      New windshield, although this one is serviceable on good days. Rainy nights are a nail biter.
                      Radio and speakers. As you can see I deleted the antenna so I'm thinking something with Blue Tooth and USB port. It's a major expense though and harder to justify until I get some of the other problems sorted out.
                      The rear deck cover is foobar but I bought 3 yards of some nice black suede the other day. Am debating on whether or not to try and glue it to the roof in place of a head liner. The potential for a less than perfect outcome is pretty high though and anything less than perfect won't do.
                      Then there's the duct tape above the front windshield. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't intimidated by this. A donor car with a properly shaped patch would go a long ways.
                      It still needs a center for the steering wheel and I need to reinstall the sun visors. A proper cleaning for the seats and care for the carpet would go a long ways.
                      Haven't really tried to figure out the intermittent wiper malfunction and even though the motor seems to run and perform to spec I'm still wondering if I'm missing something. The b6 know controller for the BP 26 engine. Stuff like that.

                              LX consol with cupholders in my FS thread ..
                              almost every jobber shop inc walmart has the conductive repair solution for the rear defrost,
                              headliner. if you still have the original cardboard backer it's easy peasy with some 3m spray glue and new fabric .. i recommend some thin foam between said cardboard and new fabric .

                              i also have a complete under-dash in black as well ..

                                I destroyed the backing taking it out so that's out of the question. Very good info about fixing the defrost.
                                I'll take a look at your FS thread. I also have the under dash pieces so no worries.
