Well guys some of you probably know ive been in the process of doing the KLZE swap in my escort and been having a few problems with wiring well somehow the fixed themselves? anyways i figured id start my worklog
What i started with was a $300 91 Escort GT 5 speed that i bought about 2 years ago the body isnt in the greatest shape but its just a test car
Parts list:
KLZE swap
MX3 parts car
Lots of misc. stuff
Parts i used from MX3
MX3 transmission( found probe transmission didnt have same mount location)
MX3 shift linkage and shifter would have work but mount was broken!! so i used stock ESCORT GT shifter and linkage
MX3 Crossmember
MX3 Wire harness (On engine to fusebox to inside to plug in to ECU) Found that probe has a lot of diff. wires fusebox is totally different looking maybe able to use but i wasnt gonna try and figure out how to wire it right
MX3 has almost an identical wire harness as escort
MX3 axles and half shaft(intermediate shaft) Dont know if stock escort would have work didnt try
After pulling the oil leaking and worn out BP. i cleaned up the engine bay a little and i had to modify my brake master cylinder brake line and reservoir which wasnt too bad at all
The swap was pretty much plug and play except for the speedo but i will figure that out another time. Now for the pictures the swap is not COMPLETE BUT WILL BE SOON. Gotta figure out radiator situation and gotta rerun a gas line
