Got a favorite degreaser? I used to use purple power back in the day, but I don't know what's good anymore.

    Huh?

Yeah, I've been saving these one dollar bills for something I suppose

Just really grimey, Hopefully it'll work. The engine came out of a car from Wisconsin (HOLY RUST BATMAN)
I said you might as well get a new oil pump also. If your doing a rebuild wouldn't you want to make sure the Heart of the engine is new? How about you can have your rebuilt bp go to shreads if your oil pump has a certain amount of miles and goes poop on you.

Oil pump installs where? I am fairly new to the whole engines game, I'm mostly an electrical systems guy lol. I don't want my baby to poop out on me, so...tell me where the oil pump is please

Thanks guys on the comments and critique!

its on the front of the block. your crank pulley goes in front of it. theres a big hole in the middle of it for the crank snout lol. on your motor its probably completely covered in gunk. lol.

anyways if you got 2 KL's laying around why are you swappin the in bp?

Just out of ease and money issues. Don't have money to get all the MX3 parts and pieces. Plus I'd like to see a build on it if anyone else has done it in an Escort.

well first youll want to power wash it to get the heavy sludge off. Make sure you cover anywhere water can get it and sit and cause damage. after that I let it dry a bit then spray a couple cans on this all over it and let it sit for 20~ mins or so. then blast it clean again with the power washer. And I know all too well how expensive it is to freshen up an engine with basically all new parts. My simple swap turned into a 3 month and $3,000 ordeal. What a headache.
