Look at this little guy, he looks scared, he knows his time is running out.

of course if anything is gonna save him, it's this rust that concerns me.

the auto 323 I'm considering doesn't have rust in this spot, but it does have it where the rear bumper meets the quarter panel, like this:

however, while my car only has rust there on one side, the auto car has it on both.

still not sure what i'm gonna do on that front.

Yep, get the protege LX engine harness, be careful not to rip the grommet going through the firewall and not to break any connectors. the 323 body harness is will work.

That's nice and brave B6 SOHC!
As for rust - imho rust is on sills - but they are spare parts. Or am I wrong and the rust has penetrated into the frame girder?
The fuel tank is in perfect state!

I say scrap both rusty 323's and just use the rust free EGT. It looks cleaner then those other to cars. If your really that concerned that its a ford, then remove the badges and change the valve cover. Its less work then fixing that rust bucket and then transferring all those parts from the EGT to again fight with a bunch of rusty bolts and crap breaking just to swap parts, unless you really like 323's that bad.

the pictures make it look better than it really is, it's got a backyard paintjob that is peeling, most of the lights are cracked, and it isn't red. plus it smells funny. if one of you guys really wants to save this escort, I'll trade it for a protege LX in equal or better condition.

I'd keep the escort since it's in much better shape.

I may put the b6 in the escort, since you guys love it so much. or someone else can come put a v6 in it, it doesn't have to get crushed.

And if you ever decide to boost it, you'll get more satisfaction when you see the looks on peoples faces when they get walked by an escort.

eh, I still like the red one better. I think I may be biased. and just imagine the look on their faces when they get beaten by a rusty old 323!

I also think you sould fix up the escort. Much better shape, and who cares if its a ford? Don't swap the escort's motor! If you must keep your 323, please don't use the escort as a parts vehicle! I might want to buy it from you if it's rust free!

I thought this was a mazda forum! I wasn't expecting this much fuss over parting an egt. Hell there are three or four of em on craigslist around here. the guy I bought this one from practically begged me to get it out of his apartment complex.
