I use the longest glasspack that fits, or I have lying around. On my current BP 4WD, I think it's around 24" inlet-to-inlet, with an 18" body.

The turbo itself takes most of the rasp out of it, as the rasp itself is just the pulses hitting a resonance. those get mixed as they twirl around that snail shell.

make sure it's got straight holes, and not louvers/louvres in it.

I think Glasspack will be the cheapest and easiest. Baxter has a shelf of them just waiting for my inspection. They're all painted red though. I guess I could repaint it. I thought about painting the system anyway from the resonator back. I painted the welds on my other system and it's done just fine. No rust or paint issues to speak of.

I'll try and have that Glasspack measured and purchased by the end of the week. I'll pick up a can of high heat black paint as well. That will just about round out my parts list.

Man, this has been a hurdle. I guess I should have just plunked down the 5-$6 hundred and had it done, but what fun is that? Thanks for all the help, with everything

      Edit-Wrong sizes.

I sent them a letter asking if it was straight through or if it had louvers. I think it's straight judging from the ad but I'd hate to buy it and have it not be what I wanted. I like the stainless one for sure but I've never welded stainless and I'm a bit scared of it, and since the rest of the system is mild steel, I don't see it making a difference really. It's also a whole lot cheaper which is getting more and more important as this build goes on.

        Edit-Later the same day,
"this resonator has louvers thats really how you get the resi. out of them. Turn them one way to capture the exhaust and tune it down, flip it the othere way is a resinator and just catchs back pressure but better flow and more noise.

I heard that about the Cherry Bomb resonators too, not sure if it's true or not though.

I found a pic last night that would tend to confirm it. Thrush makes a GlassPack of the right type. Now I just have to find someone that will sell me one. The only Thrush Glasspack I can find around here is pick up truck size.

ya might be a bit on the large side lol, I'm surprised that you can't order Thrust from a performance shop there.

I don't think Thrush makes a Glasspack in a 2.5" with an 18" body. I can't even find one online. I went to NAPA to order one and they couldn't find one even. There's a performance exhaust shop down the road I might try out if the web fails me.

                  On it's way.

Took some comparison pics today. The bracket I was going to use to secure the system to the block is not the correct one. I'm sure I could make it work but I'd rather buy the one that's easier to mod. I need some other stuff from the j/y so I'll just pick one of those up too.

                      looks good!

What I was going to do for a block support (mines hugging the pan too much to do anything tho lol) was add a 2.5" exhaust clamp and weld a support brace from that to the block, that way you can undo it fairly easy.

I picked up another bracket just like the one I have. I have a plan but it's going to take some cutting and welding. I was prepared for that anyway.

I used a 28" long 2.5" thrush glass pack on my 90 4wd for the resonator.

A typical problem I have is transposing ****. Yup, don't do what I did. It'll work though, unless I want to go back and do a better one.

I think I'll probably go with some variation of this.
