well i answered my own question xD
ok so i have deduced that my issue with the Blower Fan is a short. i was like what the hell, and turned it on this morning. BAM! it came on... i was WTF!! well a few blocks later i make a sharp turn and the fan cuts out and goes on and off. so i figured its gotta have a short in the line.
on another note, my plan for spring is this. KIA BP pull. this spring i want to go to the yard in KC and find a BP in a 97+ KIA and pull it. i intend on rebuilding the engine so until then im gonna learn about rebuilding engines.Originally posted by atomicEGThaving the fastest/most powerful VJ20 is like wanting to **** the prettiest girl in the trailer park

just a little Update here, pretty much my fall/spring plans.
now here next month im gonna get Suspension. i want to get new Tires and rims. but im not sure what i want. i like some of the Miata Rims, what size rims could i put on my Tracer? i suspect 17" would fit but im unsure. as well what would be a good quality tire and size for said rims. i would like to get nice rims, but im on a 2k budget for this so some nice stocks i can pull from a JY is good for me. i also want to have enough money for the Engine Trans conversion.
for Spring i want to start my conversion. i intend to pull a KIA Sephia BP, and get a good rebuild kit for it. i also want to find a good Tranny from a Scort/Pro. im gonna need Computer, ECU, wiring harness, guages, all the parts for the tranny. im going from Auto to Manual trans.
some assistance on what i need further would be great.
i looked at the E153 Tranny conversion. but i dont have the Skills or the tools to pull that off without help from someone that has done it. since i live in Kansas most you people would have to drive several hours to get to me xDOriginally posted by atomicEGThaving the fastest/most powerful VJ20 is like wanting to **** the prettiest girl in the trailer park

my Transmission Burned up today. im pissed, i dont hot rod it. so after class mom gonna pick me up and then when bro gets off work we'll go pick it up.
1 of 2 things gonna happen in about a month.
1). I find a cheap repair Pro(preferred)
2). tranny replacement (dont want to.)
regardless i have weighed my decision, as much as i want to im not going to do a BP conversion on this car. After thinking about it, im a Computer geek, i have general maintainance knowledge. i dont have the tools, knowledge, or place to do this kind of job. So the Tracer BG worklog is closed. however once i get a Pro thats already BP and Clutch ill be doing work to it. so a new worklog will open eventually.Originally posted by atomicEGThaving the fastest/most powerful VJ20 is like wanting to **** the prettiest girl in the trailer park

Well im not sure if im keeping this. havnt gotten a tranny yet, but im looking to pull one if i dont go for this other deal. a 1990 Dodge Daytona in very good condition with appro 87k miles, needs a fuel pump, 1 tire, and the Windshield is Spider-webbed. aside from that good paint, only the hood has some clear coat fading. the guy said he bought it to send to the shredder and was told the motor was locked up but he tried starting it and it would turn over but not fire. checked it out and the fuel line were disconnected from the tank. he reconnected them and tried again. no go, put some fuel in the breather and it fired up and ran good for about 30 seconds until the fuel was gone from the breather. 500OBO for this. as rare as this care is and its condition especially for 20yo car i don't think i'm gonna pass it up. he said its mine since the other person he got an offer from he couldn't get ahold of. so im gonna make some plans to meet up this next weekend to pick it up. im thinking of going with a good tire and fuel pump so i can drive it home.
there is the link to his add on Craigslist xD
i wish there was a seperate forum for non Pro cars xDOriginally posted by atomicEGThaving the fastest/most powerful VJ20 is like wanting to **** the prettiest girl in the trailer park

well going for tranny swap, pulled a tranny about 2-3 weeks ago.
found a 96 scort with 77k miles on it. blown motor, real good tranny.
however it was not mentioned the torque converter goes bad when the tranny burns up. SO, i didnt grab the one from my trany, and now i gotta buy a new one. $153 bucks from Autozone -_-; im waiting on my older bro's friend to heal from his teeth work to get my transmission swapped. i did however get excited and found 1 BMW on the yard with intact headlights. $17 each? WIN!!! only problem is the passenger side of the BMW was damaged and thus the passenger healight mounts are damage. mainly just the mounts. i think i can work with it. if needed afro rig or find a cheap passenger light.
i decided and this is my actual decision. this car will remain my DD and ill do minor things to it like fine tuning and maintenance for road trips like i make. but i want to get either a p5/p3 HB or a 323 HB im leaning to the p5/p3 HB but im not to sure atm. and i need moneys. started a new job. Software Support for Intuit's Lacerte Tax. Intuit being a fortune 100 company. they own Proseries Tax, Lacerte Tax, Quick books, and more.
Intuit's Website
its a good job, im making $10/hr and im full time with 40 hours a week. so, until i can get done with school and find a network/IT position this is a good job. 1600 gross a month is nice in my little corner.Originally posted by atomicEGThaving the fastest/most powerful VJ20 is like wanting to **** the prettiest girl in the trailer park

Well dropped 153+15+tax on a Torque converter today.
be in on the 4th. so hopefully ill have my car back end of next week.
im looking into some short term Mods that are not huge. Tie bar, some Stock rims that are not the ugle fan blades, suspension, and performance wise im wandering about the Split Port Injection. i've seen some 1.9L engines in scorts around 95 with this on it. im wandering the differences and what i would need for the change. my theory is i "Shouldnt" need Computer, maybe an ECU, and probly intake. at the Yard i goto thats 150 tops, if that.
im thinking Miata, Pro 7 spokes, or some EGT Spokes. i dont like the fan/buzzsaw rims. they ugly as hell.
my final decision in this is i want to get a second car, BMW 3 or a Mazda p5, once that happens im gonna put this Tracer on stands and getting **** for a BPT set up.Originally posted by atomicEGThaving the fastest/most powerful VJ20 is like wanting to **** the prettiest girl in the trailer park

1997–2002 2.0 L (1986 cc) CVH SPI2000, SOHC I4, 110 hp (82 kW) @ 5000 rpm, 125 ft·lbf (169 N·m) @ 3750 rpm, redline 5500 rpm Sedan and Wagon
The 2.0 L was introduced in the 1997 Escort (North American) sedan and wagon as SPI2000 (Split Port Induction). It now used split port induction and produced 110 hp (82 kW) and 125 ft·lbf (169 N·m). The additional displacement was achieved by boring the 1.9 L engine to 84.8 mm (3.34 in). It's the smoothest and quietest CVH engine made, and continued to deliver excellent fuel economy, although due to the cars' increased weight, mileage is somewhat less than earlier models (usually mid-20s city, mid-30s highway). As with the 1.9, the water pump is driven by the timing belt. However, the internal engine tolerances were tightened, and this version of the CVH engine is an interference design. The valves will likely crash into the pistons if the timing belt fails, resulting in extensive engine damage. They were generally regarded as durable, long-lasting engines, but if overheated they tend to drop valve seats in the number 4 cylinder. It is also the last CVH engine made and saw an end to production in the last of the 2004 Ford Focus LX/SE sedan and wagons.
According to Wiki, the 1.9L SPI i see is 2.0L. i think this is an ocaision where Wiki is not the most accurate. however the 2.0L is just a bored 1.9L, so the label is still correct and Wiki is still correct. and it only mildly answered my question. and at the same time it answered my question.i cant just swap heads. since the engine is bored. so no engine mods yet, im sure there is some fine tuning i can do but i need time and research.Last edited by ratch; 12-31-2010, 10:13 AM.Originally posted by atomicEGThaving the fastest/most powerful VJ20 is like wanting to **** the prettiest girl in the trailer park

i was thinking of Turpro's T3 he/she has for sell. i asked about it but havnt gottena response from him.
ims eriously considering this. mainly for the ****s and giggles ensued.
would i need any harness mods? the engine i have is in good condition.
pulled from a 92 escort with ~120k on it but it looks to be a rebuilt engine.
i may start collecting for this and start after april when im done with school.Originally posted by atomicEGThaving the fastest/most powerful VJ20 is like wanting to **** the prettiest girl in the trailer park
