the wheels are rota grid offroad 16x8 +20 on the protege, just needs a fender roll and a little tug, but the car is not low, i need to use it in the winter so it is going to be rally-status height, so just the sprint springs will do fine and maybe some new struts soon.

lol, the car dropped it's timing belt tentioner! scared the crap out of me. started idling funny and rattling. took the one from the K8 and put in in there until i can get my hands on a new one. for the time being i'm keeping the revs under 5k, couple of good healthy blasts let that tentioner go.

alos the same day my rear passenger strut upper mount ripped right out! fun! i grabbed the MX3 struts but i hd to file the lower mounting holes to get the camber corrected.

still working out problems with the performance chip in the K8 ecu. no matter what the CEL just stays on constantly. can't clear the codes or read them, it just doesn't give any codes, even at the diagnostic terminal.

i just bought a KLZE ecu, i'll wait and see if that fixes it.

well i finally got a proper KL36 ecu for it, so i have no more CEL. weeee. the chipped K801 ecu wasn't going out of service mode (check engine) ever, and ran like poo at WOT and wouldn't give any codes or clear codes.

car feels great finally, now i can actually put the pedal all th way to the floor and still get more power. and i get better mileage than the 4 banger was giving me. even nicer!

i switched to the MX3 springs/struts since they were much stiffer than the aftermarket sprint springs for the protege. they are taller but the snow is coming and i need to clear that stuff until spring.
