Ya, it was in great shape. It's still eating at me that I lost it. I am taking all the goodness that I can from it though.
And for the job, I didn't want to work there anyway but couldn't quit or I'd be ****ed. Now I can collect EI so the new car can still be worked on. Maybe just a little slower. But still, progress is progress.

Made a little progress today. I painted the gray trim pieces black, they turned out great. The pics don't do them justice. I just need to find a good material for the headliner and I'm set. Oh, and I still need to cover the inside of the car with a sound deadener. I think I'm gonna go with FatMat, stuff seems like it will do the job for a reasonable price. About 130 for 100 square feet. But thats a project for another day (probably order it next week)
Anyway, onto the pics. I made a ghetto setup to get some of the smell out of the basement. It worked alright I guess. I just vented it up the dryer vent. hahaha.

Ya. I said it was the seat that is lower in another thread I think.
The fan thing worked alright. The dryer vent wasn't quite big enough for the amount of air being forced by the fan but it still worked. I would maybe add something to the front to put the parts into when spraying. But that's a task for another day.Last edited by SleptWithURWife; 11-30-2010, 03:28 PM.

Oh man, big day for me today. I pulled the engine out of the old GT and got it over to my dads place and wrapped it up for the night. Just have to get it into the basement now for it to be ready to be worked on over the winter. It only took about 2 hours to get it free, not bad for first timers I thought.
A couple pics from the day...

I got the engine into the basement today. That thing is heavy! We used my car and some good rope to lower it down the stairs on a piece of OSB, it worked great. I started ripping into the engine and ran into a snag already, the bottom bolt that the alternator pivots on broke I didn't have my impact gun there, so the clutch and crank pulley are still on. Oh well, I'll get it mounted onto the engine stand tomorrow, finish taking it apart, and getting it ready to get cleaned up and any machine work that needs to be done.

I got the engine fully ripped apart yesterday. Thank god for impact guns, made getting the crank pulley and the flywheel off super easy, just loud
I found another surprise when taking the rest of the engine apart. Check out the sexy paint caught in the oil sump screen. I haven't taken the oil pump apart yet, but I gotta make sure that there is no paint in that or the oil squirters. I'm positive the paint came from the threads on the valve cover. So take note kids. Don't paint the threads of your valve cover.
The rest of the pics are of the internals and how the block is sitting, waiting for some machine work. I gotta start looking for a good machine shop to get the block honed and the head rebuilt. That's gonna be my project for next week I think.
Stay posted!
