I've never had a problem with the nut, and I've just got a super cheap 1/2" impact. But I've knocked the bearings apart trying to get the shaft out, I guess somebody never heard of anti-seize.94 pro base model, all synthetic fluids, s/r struts, front & rear ebay upper strut bars, front & rear tie bar, ZX2 1" front swaybar, EGT 21mm rear sway bar, custom delrin endlinks front & rear, custom delrin rear swaybar mount bushings, EBC front blanks & redstuff pads, CS ss brake lines & dot 4 fluid, big drum brakes in rear (from ZX2, free parts), 2.25 custom exaust w/magnaflo oval muffler, 4-wire o2 sensor, custom ram-air, 4-wire BP tb, MSD super conducter plug wires, MSD Blaster SS coil, NGK iridiums,OEM weighted shift knob, ebay short shifter, bronzoil bushings, CS ss clutch line, custom air splitter, mx-3 recaro drivers seat, EGT foglight switch, 35w 5000k hi/lo hid's

Whew it's been awhile. So for an update I got all the seals replaced, checked tolerances on everything and it's all in spec, compression was good. Got the motor back in and fired it up yesterday. It started good, a little noisy but I think it just needs to be run a bit. Hopefully I'll get the axles and suspension back together today so I can drive it. I've been pretty busy so this has gone slower than what I planned.

awesome update! I don't know how I overlooked this build. Keep up the good work.
Usually the hydraulic lifters are known to causes excessive noise, especially after sitting a while. Did you inspect them all before re-using them? If so, the noise will go away after about 15-20 minutes of idle til with fresh oil and filter.
