Also, is the ful pump supposed to be on in a Engine Off, Key On situation? Like continuously?

should only be running when the VAF door is open. I wonder if your VAF got stuck open?

It's possible, The fuel pump keeps humming while the key is on, so it's possible my K-code hybrid got bumped, and that's what was causing for it to smell like gas so strong, and not run. Getting fuel/air/spark is one thing, getting the proper ratio is another. I need a wideband :/

I'm having similar issues with my 4wd protege. I changed a bunch of stuff today and no dice, I'm hoping a VAF swap will do the trick.

Yeah, I'm about to go put my unmolested U-code back in and see if it'll fire up. If that's all it is, then I have to retune my K-code and try again Hopefully it's something stupid-easy, that I'll kick myself in the ass for when I get it figured out.

Lets just put me down right now. I mean double barrel shotgun style... Twas the VAM, it was about 20 clicks RICH. Oh joy, now I get to pull each plug, clean the mess out of them, tune my disty, and have a ride!

Nice i was going to suggest hat but by the time i got done reading you had it figured out you might want to still check the tps voltage if it keeps searching for an idle, some one might have played with the idle adjustment screw.

I had messed with the idle adjustment screw a few times when it was other problems. Should it be turned all the way in? Also, I have the one for my K-code exposed, so I'm not really sure what they should both be set to.

TPS voltage, I know there's a thread on here somewhere, but I would have to dig and dig unless it's stickied. What is optimum for the TPS to be reading?

Ok well, I went out there with full expectation for it to crank, and well, it didn't fire up... Pulled my plugs out and so far they REEK of gas, so it's still ****ing flooding the car.

Im not talking about the one on the vafm im talking abiut the screw on the throttle body that opens the throttle blade. When you open that the voltage from the tps to the ecu will differ and the ecu will try to open the iac valve to adjust the rpm so itll see the correct voltage thats why most car hunt for an idle im not sure what the proper setting is

Well, its not even trying anymore, so I'm about to just burn it to the ground and wish for something newer to fall from the skies. With this car it's been one thing after another and I'm really getting sick of it. REALLY SICK OF IT.
