much cleaner, like the strut bar color now too over the old one lol.
as for grade, do you have an oil pressure gauge? that'll tell you a lot about what grade would be best. I would honestly go with Redline or Amsoil to be honest. I've never known anyone personally to use Motul or RP engine oil, I use RP trans fluid tho-Jack

royal purple engine oil is good stuff, but i wouldnt recommend using it unless you want to find out where all of your oil leaks are. the stuff protects great, but is so thin that it finds its way out of things like vc gaskets, oil pan gaskets, and sometimes past the rubber o ring on your oil filter. lol.loves BGs too much for his own good...
93 pro lx. daily runaround until a straight shell can be had.

My advice about oil? get 30 or 40 grade, but as our climate is giving us cold morning, get 30. Actually, there's no oil that will make your engine's life longer. See, while in japan your car probably ran mineral oil with sometime late changes up to 8000km. Then if you throw syntec oil inside it's doing a clean up. What will happen after is oil leaks and especially by the seals that will tend to get harder. Valves seals, crank/cams seals and turbo seals will leaks. That's what happened to me in the first year. At my second oil change, using syntec 15W40, oil started to leak by everywhere. That's the main reason why I decided to do an engine/turbo rebuild. BTW...the most important thing about oil, is the frequency between flushes. I would say use syntec, like mobil, and you better use an affordable syntec oil and doing flush every 3000km, than using exotic RP oil and getting ripped off every time and extending the flushes because of the price of each bottles. I'm technician at Mitsubishi and they still recommend to put evo/ralliart's oil down every 4800km/3000miles, using mobil1 5W30 syntec. Don't forget that, heavy grade (15w40) will take more time to reach the turbo in a cold morning start than 10w30. The flow inside the turbo oil feed hose is reduced by a restriction at the block. The whole that let the oil going through the banjo bolt is about 0.025"-0.030"....
BTW, nice project!! hope to see it one day!-1993 Familia GT-R, 3" stainless exaust, 0.100" oversize Supertech pistons, ported and polished head, "hemi" style combustion chamber, Supertech 1mm oversize valves, megasquirt, 880cc low-z, MSD HVC, custom SS ramhorn turbo manifold, GT3076R ar.63, 25psi, 3" SS custom exhaust. Soon to be MS3X, COP and 28psi!
-2008 Mitsubishi Evolution X MR, AEM turbo inlet system, 3" magnaflow exhaust.
