Although things could change by spring, my main focus will be to install the FE3N and powertrain into the GT and ensure it runs right N/A. That includes using the FE3 wiring harness and getting rid of unnecessary/ obsolete wiring.

I'm done removing the heads from the 91 Pro (blew it) and the 93 GT parts car (donor head). I just need to clean the mating surfaces, get the gaskets (Int. Head & V/C) and reinstall. Then I'm tearing the parts GT right apart and scrapping the shell...I will pull the entire wiring harness from it and keep as a spare...

I already have enough to do to li'l bee over the winter, namely clean the engine bay, replace the front and rear subframes, rack, LCA's, TTL's, swaybars, strut bars, 5 lug swap, bigger calipers (BA Astinas) and of course my K sports.

On the finishing side, I need to clean up the door bottoms and rocker panels, and get into the doors to find out why my electric door locks are gummed up and don't move freely.

As far as the FE3N goes, I'll be working on figuring out all the extra wiring, finding a good turbo intake, lines etc...but turbo isn't a priority right now...I'm hearing parts are getting difficult to find...

There is just too much to learn regarding this engine and I won't be throwing money into it until I know which direction I will be taking.

Lol... Bogaut... would have liked to see what you wrote!!...You are so lucky to find one for the price you paid...

Labelled some wiring on the engine, and took a pic of some wiring that still needs to be identified. If anyone knows, feel free to chime in...

Removed the timing covers and checked that out... Everything looked clean, timing marks ID'd. When I pulled the plugs to inspect I found that all them still had some exposed metal along the bottom circle. The plugs looked original too...brown stains between the porcelain and the exterior metal.

tracing wires back to the ecu & looking up pin-outs (if you found pinouts for the fe3 ecu) would be my recommendation.

how do you like the waterpump design
PS idk if i mentioned it or not... but you have a better intake cam then i do (i have to throw in a kia intake cam from one of the heads i have laying around) mine came with a FEAP cam

Gawd... I see a wiring horror story in the horizon...The wiring harness I got is cut in 2 spots: one for sure is the Fuse /relay box, and the other is near the ECU connector making that possibly the passenger side wiring, amongst other things I'm sure...... I wonder if the fuel pump wiring isn't in there too...
The BP wiring is kinda close, Injector is good coolant temp good....There's no TPS on the FE... there's an idle switch on it.... fuuuuuccccccckkkkkk...too many variables!!! which direction do I take? go straight to standalone?
Ryan how are you going to manage yours?

^ that sounds like an auto/manual difference like the BP's
im unable to find a ECU pin out- send me a link to where you found your PDF file. & i'll take a look through it.

the FE3 does have a TPS. it just doesn't look like the BP's do.

Found the 2 socket ECU diagram and it looks like the wires match up to what I have...I just need to wrap my head around this.... never did this before...
Correct me if I'm wrong or headed the wrong way, but after looking at all this, my thinking is that I need to use my existing BP harness and incorporate the engine to the management. I don't think I can make the FE3 harness work because of the cut fuse/ relay box, and whatever it was that was cut on the other side of the firewall inside the car.
So I pulled the wiring diagrams of both cars, and I have the harnesses for both cars within feet of each other.
I'm looking at so many things I forget what kind of matters when I spot them. It appears I need less engine management or sensory data to satisfy the BP ECU, and I can avoid chopping up the relay/ fuse block and trying to match it to a cut up FE3 harness...The injector connector lines up, water thermo sensor, water switch, starter, alt, oil pressure sending unit, neutral and rev switches...TPS are both 3 wire (diff conn), ISC same deal...

I think the FE3 doesn't have the Purge control... there is no wiring connected to the FPR on the FE3. no electrical signal for fuel pressure...I'll double check that...
