Finally got new tires for the car. Was hoping to get the 225/40-16 Toyo T1R but they were a closeout special and there are no more left....anywhere.

Settled for some Toyo Extensa HP's in my current 205/45 size and still got an awesome price on them. Maybe next time will be some wider tires.

They are currently mounted to the garage floor. Maybe a while until I can get a friend to mount them, the tire machine at work is not kind to aluminum rims.

good call then!! I was always the guy to do aftermarket aluminum rims at the shop I use to work at lol, had to many come-backs with the others trying it...you'd think after messing up a few rims you'd have some kind of idea of what NOT to do haha.

woah lol feel free to explain what's going on there man. Are you trying to divide/separate the dual runners as much as possible? Think the merging of the two ports cause some unwanted flow characteristics?

I was looking at this and figured that velocity is good till it hits this big open area where the top and bottom manifold bolt togethor and slows down. The cardbord is in there to give shape to the epoxy I will be using to fill in between the ports. I am also considering adding something that will extend a little into the lower manifold to keep the flow seperated till it comes to the part where the port gets smaller again.

Major problem with the second part is that I didnt grab the lower manifold from the yard when I bought this one.

I thought you were going that route lol, makes sense to me though. I was contemplating on something similar with the lower 1/2 but just converting it to a single smaller port/tube vs the wide mouth. Then slap a custom plenum on it with some velocity stacks lol.

What epoxy are you using btw? I never bothered trying this because I was worried of heat damage and possibilities of it breaking apart.

Yeah if it blended better like 2 merging header pipes it would be great. I dont know if it will have any noticeable benefit or not but since its apart why not try it, cant hurt.

I will be using JB weld epoxy and cutting small notches in the metal for it to bond too and hold. I am not worried, because I have done some extensive reading of people using it to reshape the cylinder head intake ports of anything from Harley's to Honda 600/1000 race bikes and street bikes and never had it come apart.

Also I think you'll notice a difference with what you're doing. Hell it's old technology, could always use a fresh eye.

It would be nice to notice something. I plan to put this manifold and my bored TB on before I rebuild the engine, just to see if I feel any difference from it.

Did some work on the hood today..........

Debating on the final setup though since the hood is slightly damaged:

1-Paint carbon hood body color (calypso green) and leave vents black
2-Make the hood look new again with clear coat and either leave the vents black or paint the vents calypso green

I am curious how it will look myself, have to buy some of the perfect match spray paint and try it.

Did some more work on the manifold and am overall pleased with the results. Even if it doesnt do anything for the engine, it was good practice for me.

The VICS ports need some shaping done to them and some more filling on the sides as well as adding more length to protrude down into the lower manifold a little with a nice curve to direct the air down the runner better.
