that endlink is your critical problem....... period. the swaybar in these cars was never designed to be that far up from the control arm.
Im utterly surprised you haven't broken the swaybar yet. visually i can see the bar doesn't even look correctly anymore

you have 2 options really:
go back to the normal endlink design
change over to the later BJ design where its connected to the strut. (note this increases the swaybar ratio)

take my advice & ditch that system

Take a closer look, that endlink is not any longer then a stock or ES poly setup....

The car is lowered which makes the control arm move up which in turn with the same length endlink, pushes the bar up the same amount. The bar is fine and is not distorted, where its hitting versus the force applied to it=very little leverage. The sway bar wont break till it wears a groove in it and creates a weak spot.

A normal endlink would have to be considerably shorter to work, and that would mean not even using poly bushings it would have to be so short.

I would only consider the BJ option if the MX3 bar wont work since I would have to buy a couple threaded endlink collars and come up with a new endlink or use a stock one I guess.

I don't have any problems... My whole front sway bar/control arms and sub frame are all stock mx3 gs stuff..

I don't remember the stock endlinks placing the sway bar much closer to the arm. An inch at most closer.


I don't think he CAN go back to the stock endlink design. The only real option here without going BJ chassis style is finding a shorter body'd rodend.

They are pretty much the same length as a stock one, and I doubt I can find a shorter one. Its a 3/8 rod end so its not that big now

are you having issues with the bar hitting on the lower or upper segment of the subframe?

Finally got my new tires mounted and on the car, got the aluminum flywheel balanced and am hoping to finish installing the new Viper keyless entry system today.

Also got my engine rebuild kit as well, so I am very close at this point to starting the rebuild, just a couple small things need to be done first. Finish the head/reassemble and get the injectors cleaned.

You never realize how bad your tires get over time till you install new ones. The improvement in the ride is welcome but I havnt pushed them yet so I cant say how they stack up vs the old set in the handling department.

Installed my Viper keyless entry, rerouted my oil pressure gauge sensor cable, installed green LED's in my cluster, and finally have a hazard light button again.

Got the Kia head finished and reassembled tonight. Only thing left at this point is to buy a scale and balance the Miata Pistons/rods and send the Kia injectors out to be cleaned. I tried cleaning the spare set of HLA's but I could only get 3 of the 16 apart, so I will be picking up a set of brand new ones from Ebay.

The plan is to rebuild this thing toward the end of July since I will be taking a 2 week vacation from work.

In other news, I have been trying to get a in contact with Colt Cams to get some Tri-flow regrinds to go with my rebuild but after 3 try's and no email response I may just forget it and stick with the stock cams.

Colt cams is just in my back yard.. If emails aren't working give them a call.. They can be a very busy shop.. Locally they are good shop to deal with..

Good thing I saved my intake cam after I did the Exhaust/Intake cam swap, so I only have to go to the junkyard to find another exhaust cam so I can send them in. Unless anyone has an exhaust cam they dont need?

I will certainly give them a review, but I doubt I will do any dyno's of them. I plan to run the engine after the rebuild and get a feel for it and then swap them in.
