I actually never got around to finishing that, and the BP engine is no longer in the car anymore.

But....my idea for it to work would be using the WOT trigger of the TPS and some kind of delay timer wired to the compressor clutch relay. This is how it seems to work for Ford ECU with the 1.9L because it wont disengage right away when you go WOT, only after a small delay I assume to keep the compressor from cycling to much and reduce clutch wear.

You don't need the special tool kit. You just need a dial indicator to find what size shims you need to set the proper end clearances.

From your pictures it looks like you just pulled up on the shaft by hand to measure end play?

I actually already have the tool kit sitting in my garage right now so I may as well make use of it. I do still have to buy the dial indicator though.

Yes Canadian escorts 91-96. 2 door and 4 door.

They are well worth it. I have a set for the wagon, but I am going to wait till the motorized ones break first before I install them, shouldn't be long now. Lol

Yeah a couple years back i found a Canadian Wagon in a JY in Tucson but when I got back there it was gone.

Yah kind of what i figured. It had the manual belts that i was going to grab. Dad's original escort that he still has is an escort with messed up auto belts. My egt auto belts work but i want manual ones! One day.

Started planning how I will tackle the engine harness for the MZR swap in the hatchback. I have 5 separate harnesses from the mazda 3 to get all the stuff I wanted/needed and will try to make it more like the BP harness I pulled out. I may end up moving the battery to the trunk and mounting the ECU/fuse box in the engine bay since thats how the Mazda 3 stuff is designed to be used and the engine harness is too short to have the ECU inside the car unfortunately.

^ why not extend the harness to make it sit inside the car?

Only because the engine harness has shielded wires in it and I dont want to mess with extending those and I would have to add a lot since the ECU connector is approx right over the top of the transmission.
