Hm, I'll have to keep you in mind when I build a road race car in the next year or two. You ever thought about doing hoods or hatches?
My family has lots of bg's!
2003 Ford Escort ZX2: Project car/future daily driver. Built Ford Tough (With Mazda Stuff)
1999 Escort ZX2: Daily driver/beater. Going to be replaced by the '03 next summer.
2000 Escort ZX2 S/R: bought wrecked, going to use as parts car
1992 Protege LX: My old race car. Just a wrecked shell right now. Waiting for scrap to go up so that I can get rid of it.
    1992 Mazda 323: Race car
1992 Escort Gt: My grandpa's old race car
1994 Escort GT: My grandpa's new race car.
Parts cars; 1993 Escort Gt, 1995 Escort lx

The hood and hatch will be after the doors. If someone is interested in either i can skip the other door for now (car won't be running anytime soon) and start on that. Probably won't do fenders for obvious reasons but i might do a one piece front end.

I would add some bracing inside the door, but that's it. Even with the bracing it would still be quite a bit lighter than the steel doors. I'm looking into it as an option.

I'm sure people would be interested in hoods. Would you consider doing them in carbon fiber?

wouldn't bee 100% carbon but ive been throwing the idea around. one sheet of carbon big enough to cover the hood is about $50, if you vacuum bag it add $30, then add the epoxy. you can cut that in half if you buy in bulk but i can't afford to do that. alot of the parts you buy now aren't all carbon because since the war started and economy tanked its harder to come by and more expensive. My supplier told me they divert all their carbon to the military now.

I always thought it would be awesome to have carbon fiber doors hood and trunk on my 4wd protégés tsince they are a bit heavier than the fwd models. It'd be interesting to see if you could feel the weight difference.

Funny you say that because thats the car ive been itching to start working on but i have so many projects at the moment. in do time i'll get my dad to bring it to my house and take my supra back. Everytime i see one i say man thats a beautiful car, but its no 626 lol. All jokes aside parts are coming soon for that most likely carbon hood and trunk.
