As far as whether that diff is open or torsen, you may be able to see the wormgears if you pop a stub axle out but I think you get to take the cover off. They didn't come with anything other than open or torsen. I think there clutch clutch diffs available but not OEM.

Finally got a hook on some KH Laser headlights and corners, Im liable to be the only person with a full KH grill/headlights/corners in the northern hemisphere, lol.
Also picked up an RCI 15 gal fuel cell that should fit nicely in the spare tire well I plan to cut out. This should mitigate the whole "my driveshaft hits my stock fuel tank" issue. :D

awesome!! glad you sourced it all out man!
I know Skuce had it done a few yrs back, but I don't think he has the Laser bits installed anymore, it was just for fitment with a GTR bumper back in the day, although I could be wrong lol.-Jack

But the real question is, are YOU going to be there for IR208, or just the car?Create your own VB Gallery here.

I've decided that my car is a girl, she's picky as hell, won't listen to me, always wants to fight me, and when i give her presents it's never good enough and she always wants more.

Well ****, I swear this car hates me.
For the last couple weeks I had been planning heading home for my birthday but the car wasnt having none of it. The night before i was supposed to leave I went outside to start the car, thaw it some and load it. But after spending about 30 seconds trying to crank it I knew something was wrong, -20/30 below wind chills made it challenging but I finally figured I had spark/fuel/air but was missing something on the mechanical side of the table. At this point (11-pm) i gave up. Went to bed and during my sleep i realized the timing was off, true story. Thought about changing the belt/tensioner amongst the snow drifts that remained from the last blizzard. Then I remembered I cant do any work in the parking lot of the hotel I am staying at. The mother****er broke because of just how cold it was.
So i limp the car to a mechanic, keep in mind this is oil country, so labor is in high demand and costly. I talk to the lead floor tech and tell him if I can get it done by the end of the day he had my attention. I basically told him "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY" which was definitely the wrong thing to say. $1k and 8 hrs later I was out the door with a new Timing belt/tensioner/water pump since they all needed replaced. Labor rate of around $125 an hour IIRC. NEVER happening again.
So i head out of town at 6 oclock in the afternoon with a 15+ hr drive ahead of me. Snowing to beet hell, and large extents of black ice. turned the drive into a 17+ hr affair. Finally get home and I make it in one piece!
Go to Birthday dinner with my Mom and brothers and get a call from my roommate. Seems as though he forgot to pull his parking brake and his EG hatch rolled back into my car. Left the door and fender unusable, dont see any other real damage though. Good thing he has full coverage USAA insurance and wasnt trying to be a dick about it. Supposed to be having an insurance adjust come on out tomorrow to quote me. Most likely just going to take the "cut me a check" option and find the parts in a Pick a part.
Cliff notes.
$1k timing belt
Snowstorm trying to kill me.
Roommate hates escort enough to actually run into it.Last edited by AWDXavier; 03-23-2013, 12:00 AM.
