It's fixed. Sorry for the wait.
The first run was my first auto-x pass ever... I was only going about 85%... and got a 52.296. The second run was my fastest competition run, with a 50.200 (twelfth fastest competition car of the entire day, out of 150 cars, mine being one of the least expensive) The third run was a 50.500, but I tagged a cone in the first slalom, with a 2 second penalty it was actually my slowest run... The fourth run was a vendor fun run with no timer, and a passenger who broke my passenger seat in the Chicago box which threw me off, but it may have still been in the high 49's anyway. I made a fifth run off camera, but The fuel level got low enough that I starved fuel on both the tight rights after the slaloms. After that I started pushing oil out the intake, and burning a bit upon startup. I get to do a compression test sometime this week to ensure that I did not melt a piston. It may have just been sloshing out the breather on the rear valve cover, but I have a sick feeling that I went too lean and got something melty.
I fell in love with the ST though, and here in a month or two, I'm gonna look for an Oxford White or Ingot Silver ST for myself for a new daily. Sadly I'll be ridding myself of Three Escorts to make room for the Focus. I need to thin the herd so I can maintain a new vehicle properly, and focus on a new full race Escort build. Next year I will have a few tricks up my sleeve. I want fastest time of the day... I'm hooked, and way too competitive for twelfth fastest.
Highlights will be; sub 1900LBS, full cage, KLG4 with Holset HY35, MFactory diff and Ferdi trans plate, Suspension-brakes-wheels&tires as seen on this car. I'll add power steering, an oil catch can, and a fuel cell with a surge tank. E85 and AWIC, Some ridiculous seats that hold on tight, and some Aero work.
I think the additional power, along with the ability to put it down, and then fixing the few issues I felt slowed me down, will give me the edge I need. Losing 500LBS will just push it over the top. (It will be street driven too, including the two 260mile trips there and back. Too many cars were trailered there, and still went slower than me)Current:

I have too many good parts to get out now. It would cost way too much to build a competitive car off another platform. Plus I'll always have BG love. I'm smitten by the ST for it's comfort and sensibility as a daily.
