Ive checked the TPS wiring and ECU wiring. It's all good.
The car is driveable right now. It "breaks up" when I hit boost (above 0). I was able to ease in(?) and hit 3-4psi. But when I floor it and get boost, it either sounds like a gunshot or "breaks up". Driving like normal, not under boost, it drives fine.

I think it just needs a tune. :/

at this point. i can be certain that either your TPS is not within range. or the wiring isn't proper. your AFR's aren't too crazy to put you at what kinda sounds like a boost cut "gunshot" noise.

im almost ready to say just go ahead and order one of those evo8 ecu systems & forget about the stock crap.
we know for sure something is wrong with the OE electronics

Walbros are super hit or miss. I've had good luck with them in the Escorts, but the brand new one I put in my 240 died after six months or so, and the one in my buddy's track car failed and IIRC that's what took out his SR... but that was after like three seasons of abuse, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have an ISIS copy of the Walbro in my 240 now (because that's what 240SXMotoring had in stock), the track car has an AEM.

I can't remember what he had to do to make it fit, but I'm like 99% sure Blazin674 has a turbo Supra pump in the GTR wagon and it was more or less plug & play (as in, he installed the **** in like 10 minutes after I dropped the car off and it fired right up with a jump...)

dumb question, because I can't remember and don't feel like going through 17 pages, but what ECU does this thing have in it?

also, what spark plug gap are you running?

edit: after watching the video, I'm like 99% sure I've had this happen to one of my cars and I'm just trying to remember which one

bp26 ECU... Plug gap was .04something they come at. I adjusted them down to 0.03something for the fun of it, but it didn't do anything.

New plugs? Good coil? This seems like spark blow out. My friends Evo was doing this in higher boost and simply changing his plugs cured it. It's worth a shot for a buck and change per plug.

yeah, that's what I'm thinking too.

IIRC .028 is where BPTs are happiest, but I don't have one anymore so I could be wrong

                        Um. Boost.

Replaced the ignition coil even though it measured within spec. The last piece of the ignition system I hadn't replaced. I can boost now. No more bucking, no more backfiring.
