Not sure what YOU heard, but what I heard was hitting a brick wall!
The car won't crank unless I retard the timing. I can then put it back to 12* and crank it at 12* when it's warm. It's not an easy crank, but it does crank
What are your plugs gapped at? Also does it do that at half throttle?
They're gapped at whatever it was the bkr7e come at. Yeah, it does it about half throttle. Oddly first gear is fine (mostly), but about half throttle to accelerate and it hits a wall and backfires like in the video
I have. I put my U code on it. It was more driveable, but I don't think it was due to the VAF. It still hesitates and backfires when trying to accelerate (not wot, but slight pedal pressure). I still had to turn the distributor back just to get it to crank.
I'm assuming I want to idle as lean as possible?
I've got some smaller injectors coming this week, so this whole issue will hopefully be resolved. We'll see.
