    5th gear from 626

    If I want lower RPM on 5th gear, I need 5th gear from 626, but what type, year, engine ??? Thanx to all.

      O.K. Year 89-92, but I don't think, that gears are same in all these engines 1,6D;2.0;2.0D;2.0 12V;2.0 16V;2.2

              the 88-92 stuff didn't use the G series box, IIRC.

                the probe and mx6 got the shorter 5th gear. the 626 one is the long one.

                and yes, that's the fifth that will work.

                        well, edwin did some quick cross-referencing and i talked to Wil on AIM, and it looks like he's right. the 626 isn't longer.

                          So which car has a 5th gear the G25 tranny can use? Any difinitive answers? I'd like to do this mod myself one day....

                            Gears from F-tranny are different from G-tranny, or are same only with different ratio??

                              every 5th gear in a G series box is .79 or higher. The Protege comes with the .79.
