Yeah, it's true that they are heavier, too, and our motors are better . I guess I'm just sick of the attitude that the first gens are god's gift to man. 2nd and 3rd gens are cool, too.

Hey I didn't mean to upset anyone with the "weak" comment--it's just a bit frustrating to only be able to find ONE cat-back system and have it be of poor quality.

And no, I had no illusions about a Protege aftermarket as deep as the civic's.

These people http://www.bareend.com/ were working on their own cat back exhaust for the 90-94 Protege/91-96 Escort. You might want to contact them about it.

I guess i got the only good Pacesetter system then, cause i've had mine on for about 4 years. Mind you i just use the piping, everything else was pieced together. It looks like crap, but who cares...

Yes, i live in sunny socal, 1 mile from the beach. Sea salt and hot sun can do wonders too, but the process is much longer.

I still have the muffler if anybody wants it....

The BareEnd system should be pretty good. They have done quite a bit if research and gotten alot of feedback to get it going. Mind you all this was pretty much, fit and finish, not performance numbers. I bielve Maganaflow mufflers will be used, aswell as high-flow cats. They will probably offer both 2" and 2.25" versions, aswell as a 2.5" and/or 3" turbo version.
