Crap synchro's

Both of my '94s grind like all get-out when downshifting, (2500 or so).
I am running SOHC in both and am wondering if this is also a common problem in the DOHC trans.
I plan to do a gtx swap and need to know if I should go used and
break-'em, Remanufactured or rebuild (if a kit is available).

stock DX (F series) trans is garbage.

Get a G series from an LX (90-94), especially if your going to drop a GTX in (takes more abuse). Do it then and save yourself some headache. You will also need the speedo cable, and half shaft, and axles from the LX to work with the LX tranny. Worth the upgrade though IMO.
