    CATCO Cat

Just purchased a new Catco for the girlies Pro.

Seems the bends could have been better and the pipe welded to the flanges could have been better (but hell what can ya expect for 80 bones). So I was gonna stick it on the girlies car.

Reason: NOx was HIGH even with the ignition at full retard in 1st on the smog dyno.

Im fairly sure there isnt a EGR on a 90 Pro.

Will this converter be still a clean burner in 2yrs when it needs to get dynoed for its 2yr smog check?

    TIA

arent catco cats high flow? Wouldn't you want one that less free flowing to help reduce emissions?
The T3 BP MX-3 conversion has begun, and is taking forever & will kill me.

I had a 2 week old catco and it could NOT pass CA smog. I got a new Magnaflow cat installed and tested the same day, it passed first time....

YMMV, but i'd never even consider a another catco cat....bleeechhh!

was the magnaflow a high flow? I have an e-check coming up and its making me a little bit antsy, even though I really don't think I'll fail, it looks totally OEM and our cars are pretty clean to begin with.

damn thats odd. i lived in charlotte from 93-99 and had to have my 90 sentra smog checked every year.
you must live in an outlying county that doesn't check tailpipe emissions.

matter of fact, they still do in mecklenburg!and raleigh is in wake........

Dude.......... I live in Orange County and they do not do tail pipe emission for cars that are 96 and newer. Now if you got a 95 or older get prepared for the tail pipe test.

Yea, perhaps charlotte had diffrents laws. However, it is a very new law, it just started to take effect at the begining of 05. NC cracked down hard on new cars, any car after 96 is damn near impossible to pass. On the other hand they let anything before 96 slide. When i got my inspections done recently they looked to make sure the lights worked and that was it. Stupid as hell, but i cant complain. I might end up putting a cat on though, because my exhaust gases are quite potent.
