Another question, there isn't a set tuning, so you totally need to dyno tune these? Or is there an estimated cam setting that you can adjust it to?

I'm thinking about doing this without the adjustable cam gear since it would be free. So supposedly the timing would be 1/2 tooth off... Does anyone know how that would affect the low/midrange power? I also was given the idea of taking the tab thing off the gear then rotating it slightly, and tack welding it back on, effectively shifting the gear by 1/2 tooth. Any ideas on this?

All you'd need to do is bore the factory hole a little, adjust the cam gear in that direction, then fill the other side in with weld. Then install it 180' inverted and move it 3 teeth and the timing will be dead on. For free.

I thought about something. Maybe somebody could answer this. I'm only going to be running the stock bp cams when I boost it. Ryan runs the gtx exintake cam. What if I just used the bp exintake cam with a boosted setup? Would it hurt to do? Would there be a decent amount of a power gain? I'm figuring it won't be as good as a gtx exintake cam but might be a little less hp than it.1993 Protege LX-Midnight's shadow SOLD

if you look at the cam specs they are pretty damn close, aside from the timing. so with adjustable gears it should work alright.
