    bolt pattern for exhaust

I was wondering is there any difference in the bolt patterns for the 1 gen 1.8dohc bp and the newer 99-00 1.8 dohc? I was scrounging around e-bay and saw a header from OBX-R racing for the 99-00 1.8 and was wondering if it would fit? any help would be appreciated. thanks
This is our quest; as the tail lights fade into the distance let it not be the jeers of others that say we can not do what others have, but to let the whistle of the bov the whine of our turbo and the roar of our exhaust announce to those who may say it can not be done that we will not go quietly into the night we will not bow to mainstream but rather blow by them doing mach speed laughing our asses off and giving them the one sure sign( ) so that they will understand their place in life when it comes to doubting a driven individual who owns a Mazda BG with a boosted BP

I'm 99.9 % sure that the 99-00 1.8 is different. When TheMAN was selling the Mazdaspeed header from Japan for the FS motor, I was comparing the ports, bolt pattern, etc to the BP. If they matched up, I might have bought that header..... But from what I could tell from the pics, the port spacing is different. On the BP, the ports are evenly spaced, but on the F-series, there is a larger spacing in beween the #2 and #3 ports:

    BP: 0-0-0-0
    FS: 0-0--0-0

So if the 99-00 1.8 FP is like the 2.0l FS (which it should be), it won't work.

Are you anywhere near Fredericksburg? I'm shipping a block, oil pan, and cylinder head to Dave of www.sms-products.com so that he can start prototyping a 4-2-1 BP header..........
It will be expensive, but 100 percent worth it - if for just quality alone.

My Genie header is cracked+leaking, thus complicating my efforts to tune the motor with the MSII based on the a/f's. The Genie header has lasted me about ~ 4 years, and may have been leaking for awhile now and I didn't realize it.....

I'm ready for something that performs - and doesn't crack and start leaking due to bad design, workmanship, materials, etc.

thanks for the info on that. oh well. i am in Norfolk area so you are pretty close to me. hopefully by the end of the summer i will have enough to get a mess of work done to my car. then it is on to the apperance. as i figure it right now i am looking to spend about 5k on the engine alone. big bore 10.5to1 comp knife edged and balanced w billet rods, extrude hone head then sent to corksport for their treat ment of better cams springs and over sized valves then a bull frog tb nology wires crank underdrive pulley cam gears and finally a map conversion to get rid of the vaf crap(restrictive) when all that is done noltec complete suspension package brembo cross drilled front and rear ss lines fro the brakes man the list goes on. should be a hot runner when i am done
