I used to run them in mine before I went turbo. The TB is off of a GXR-1000 and the manifold was a custom-made one.

yes but you need to build a properly sized plenum with velocity stacks.

Thanks for the info. I might look into the junkyard route. I'll have to learn more about how they work.

There is a set of 44mm Honda motorcycle throttlebodies near me in good condition for sale for $100.

I thought about picking them up and trying to use them to remedy the firewall clearance problem with a BP in a Festy, but I have a lot of hurdles in my project before I get to that one...

Anyway, motorcycle throttlebodies might be a cheaper, junkyard type solution. Cheaper than Webers or Delortos.

I think if I were to take it on, I'd just build my own manifold.

it has been done a lot on the miata/mx5 rwd platform, is see no reason why a fwd BP motor cannot, the big issue is cost: manifold, standalone ecu, throttle bodies being the biggest cost + a lot of extras (injectors, tuning, fuel pump etc).

on a bang for your buck ratio BP turbo is the most cost effective way of getting more power and easily.

i am in the process of putting together a twin sidedraft dellorto setup for a BP fwd motor im having a job getting the manifold cheaply ( i know of 3-4 sources for the weber/dellorto manifold ) - by the way the miata inlet manifold for 1.8 bp engine is interchangebale with the fwd familia/protege/323 item - which means if you got a manifold also you would be able to buy weber/dellorto throttle bodies for a cheaper outlay ( but still very expensive )

plz note later miata BP inlet stud pattern changes you want the early ones (1990-1997 port design)

see my ride for pics of 2 of the possible manifold solutions, 1 of them is avail from http://www.piercemanifolds.com/ K694 40 DCOE X2 99003.694 it is incorrectly listed as for e3/e5 series engines

    throttle bodies:

your lucky in the US because your cars are left hand drive meaning plently of space for these kits

Hey, i've already searched. Is there any way to have ITB's on the Bp? Has anyone tried this? What alls needed? Is there a way to make them work on the stock ecu and whatnot? Any info is great. Thanks
