    My N/A Intake Manifold

    I was asked to post some pics of my manifold. Here's what i've done;

    Bottom 1/2 was 'cut', fully honed, ported, and lightly polished.
    Top 1/2 was 'cut', ported, knife edged and polished.

    Should flow alright.

    JACK.

        nice jpb, but still needs work

        you could remove the "scaring marks" from when it was bored/honed out

        be supprised how much that can slow the air speed down
        you want the inlet mani nice and smooth...but the head to have a "rough spot" so the air can start to tumble into the cyc

        nice paint job

        my N/A one needs a paint now...

                I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

                    it's a CP service, i'm now allowed to tell anyone about it. I believe if you're a paying member you can view the how-to? im not 100% sure on that one though.

                    got the intake manifold off the car tonight, only took me an hour and i didn't even jack the car up! go me!

                      Paying members can see the how-to and pics. I did mine a couple of weeks ago. We shall see if it makes any difference. The idea is that it allows air to flow better during the opening of the VICS butterflies so that you don't have the (I think it is ~5hp) drop while they open. Mine is shinier (inside)! I was going to paint mine too, but got lazy. That MAZDA logo fits perfectly, where did you get it?

                            started the cutting process today, stupid rotary tool is acting up though. so it's taking its time. bottom 1/2 took me about 20 mins, top is probably going to take over an hour.

                              well i finally finished it today!!! just have to finish cleaning it up, and give it one last wipe down with zippo fluid (works amazing). i'll borrow my sisters camera tomorrow and snap some pics

                              ...needless to say, this being my 3rd intake manifold...that this had to be the worst one to port match. at the lower section (non vics part) the one 1/2 of the manifold was overlapping by about 1/4"...which is horrible! so now its all fixed and ported, polished, cut and port matched...didn't hone it though. not enough $$$

                              JACK.
