    Oil pressure gauge install

So I had this autometer oil pressure gauge sitting around for a long time and I might as well install it.

Question is, does the fitting that comes with these gauges fit in the stock oil sending unit place on the BP block or are the threads different?

both auto meter and the cheap auto parts store ones i have owned where both equipped with what i needed. i think elscotto did that cause he pulled his turbo feedline off the sending unit port also.

dammit I checked the gauge and I don't have the fittings - I got it used and the guy didn't include them. I guess a trip to home depot it is.

What size thread is on the oil sending unit on the block?

Isn't the threads on the oil sending unit the same as the stock one? Or where are you gonna fit this in?...

Unless you are gonna get a T fitting so you can put both of them on there.

I have to get a fitting that threads into the block since my gauge didn't come with it, and I am taking out the stock sending unit for the light.

I'll check tomorrow on the two block I have at work, but I think its the same thread... using the fine thread, and not the corse one. I believe it's a pipe thread.

Not sure if you take out the oil sending unit, will the oil light come on?

Nope oil light won't come on ... or maybe I should go with an adapter at the filter and run both an oil temp and pressure gauge ... lol ... soo many options.

But if you could look it up Jon, it would be great. I think it's 1/8 NPT but I may be wrong.

I just installed mine yesterday, how about that. I have an autometer sending unit and the threads are the same as the stock one. I removed the stock unit, and screwed the new one in. Fit is perfect. Just waiting on some more parts to come in till I can re-assemble the intake manifold side of the engine. And BTW, I could not get the stock unit out from the bottom. Pulling the intake manifold is pretty much needed.
