my girl's car is pissing me off HELP!!!!!!!!!

she got a 94 lx and its mad slow to take off but after on 2nd going to 3rd its starts picking up speed any suggestions? and by the injector and throttle cable theres is like a hissing noise like air is coming through ???????????HELP its DRivin Me CrazY oh and might i add its automatic soon to be manual

and after a while the manifold get red like its clogged or something and i just finished changing the catayltic converter yesterday

basic tune-up?

spark plugs
spark plug wires
rotor
cap
fuel filter
air filter
run some seafoam through your engine and a little in your gas tank then change oil

alright imma do the basic tune up but wat about the manifold getting red u think the resnator can be clogged?

if i take the resnator off and put a regular pipe will my car pass emission?

The resignator is just a pre-muffler. It changed the tone of the exhaust, nothing to do with emissions.

I've had the cat on my Protege break apart and clog the exhaust. From my experience, your car would have the opposite reaction, that is it would have power down low but would be choked at higher RPM. My car didn't want to go above 4K when it clogged and it was utterly slow even at lower RPM.

Is the cat you put on recently, is it the correct one for your car? It shouldnt get cherry red hot, there is definetly a restriction.

yea its the correct one but it was happening before i changed it thinking that was the problem but it wasnt so0o0o i m just thinking of taking off my whole exhaust to see if there is anything in there
